Yup; but probably the best season to discuss the matter and potentially have a map created by Thanksgiving 2014.

OK, so thanks giving. What is that as only one country celebrates it?

Canada celebrates thanksgiving as well. Other counties might too, not sure.

Make sure the map has a turkey.

Would people be happy if a current map or a map in development would have a skin added to it instead? So we would get a thanksgiving skin for classic map for example.

Pilgrims migrated from England and landed in Plymouth, Massachusetts. Then they ate.

Themes for Thanksgiving include turkeys, pumpkins, cornucopias, native americans... Oh, and obviously pilgrims.

According to wikipedia, the US, Canada, Liberia, Puerto Rico and Norfolk Island celebrate Thanksgiving. Netherlands, Grenada, Japan and Germany have similar holidays but aren't named Thanksgiving.

It would have to be a pretty awesome theme with awesome gameplay for me to really be on board with this. Till then, koontz' idea isn't so bad.

So we could use New World or 13 Colonies as thanks giving maps then?

How about making a new one with the beach and Plymouth Rock, the mayflower and those ships, all on the far right of the map, with the dominant theme being the feast? Territories include the feastees (Natives, Pilgrims, and Native Leaders), Foods (Turkey, Corn, etc), and some other stuff- random dogs maybe or livestock, possible enemy natives... Just throwing it out there, would be a twist on what holiday maps we have now.

Might be a cool contest to release around thanksgiving this year to see who can come up with the best idea.

I do not think a thanks giving map would have a lot of appeal to the majority of players. It would be one of those maps that come out once a year and players play it as it is different, not good in any way.

But the idea of a normal map that is in play all year round using the icons like the mayflower, native Americans, pilgrims could be done. A collection bonus system for gathering items from the natives would be employed.

I think 13 Colonies. And a skin is a good idea for this year. But long term, I think a Thanksgiving map is not a bad idea. Perhaps something that depicts the exodus from England to USA and then the winner. The colonizers could then have to build settlements and have to get Indian tribes and perhaps have a Thanksgiving dinner for an objective like the Pot Of Gold is the objective for the St. Patty's Day map.

I would have loved a skin this year.

Not a bad plan, at least for something a little different than the basic holiday map plan.

A couple other ideas, something more like the Xmas map with say a dinner table with all the trimmings with either a kids table to jump from or say a couch of football fans in tripdaphan comas.

Or something cute and simplistic along the lines of doodle earth of a kindergardener drawn turkey. (you know the basic "hand" turkey drawing) with macaroni type art/paths in the same mold as St Patty's Day.
