Welcome to the Society of Cooks
The Society of Cooks is your first step in gaining and holding a higher rank. Points aren't everything by any means and just a small part of what you gain. This is a place to learn to play cohesively and competitive with the very people hunting you for easy points. Here at the society we teach you the skill of Terminator style games as well as the value of standard style games.
Our forum is located in the middle of the CC forum page. Upon entering we would like you first introduce yourself to the other members. Second there are a number of stickies at the top of our forum. Read them! You will find them full of helpful advice in getting started and what we do. Please sign in where asked.
What you will need to do in our program is start or join only Classic, Escalating, Terminator, Sequential, Unlimited,( 6 to 7 players games). We offer help on other maps when your base skill level reaches such a point. Remember, you will be learning strategy, basic map reading skills, and good game playing habits, not how to play every map. We use maps that work the easiest for learning on but you will find you can use these skills on sorts of maps. You can make your own or join the many games offered by our CC community.
When you start a new post in your Training Ground, a form will be automatically generated called our Game Form. You will fill in the lines to meet your game criteria, paying special attention to the comments section. Every time your turn comes up, you will write in the comment area before you take your turn stating what you think you should do. We will then write what we think you should do and why. This will train you to read the game board looking for the best spots to be in each major area, what the troop strength of each of your opponents is, who has how many cards, and why you should almost never try to own a continent.
Please limit the number of games you post at any one time to 2 games. This eases the burden on our teaching staff.
So again, welcome, and above all else let's have some fun. Contact any SoC teacher or staff member if you have any questions.
