I have found a possibility for the names, and it would be fairly accurate. The Yellow part could be called Siberia. The only difference is it it does not have actually contain West sakha. I am still looking for a name for the blue region, but this would also be slightly inaccurate as the name i am looking for includes west sakha and excludes hokkaido.

Ok, ive finished coding, but i cant seem to be able to test it, it says xml not valid each time. Perhaps something is wrong with my xml, but since both me and Keyogi have had problems with this, there might be something wrong with the xml tester.

My opinion on Arctic map,

Postby Edward on Fri Dec 29, 2006 5:11 pm

This looks nice but instead of just taking a part of the world and using it to make a new map why not add a little theme. You can add a few images of cold war submaines (not in game, just images).
In the same way that world map 1.0 has a nuclear war theme, Irland map is like an old map, Philipines has a few naval images, this one could have Cold war stuff since the only action that this part of the world did have was the cold war. Not to change the game, just to have those little images on the map.
Just a suggestion... Like a Soviet flag over the water on Russias side and an american flag on the Canada's side (or next to alaska). And cold war map sounds more exciting than Arctic map.

[I came back and edited my post because the map is out and the subject is closed. They went with a polar bear, I would have liked a sub or maybe also an iceberg but this is good too.]

theme???? If you want to play theme, play monopoly... buy a house to me near Beverly Hills or you can get any theme you want on your computer layout. Leave this map as it is...

Dublin had the same problem when finishing the North America map, and I corrected it to him. Maybe if you e-mail me the file... If you are interested, pm me.

Could you add Norway - Murmask border, please?
I think this map is enough zoomed to have got this border...
At least could you think about my proposal, thanks

I don't think that border would help very much...norway is a non-border country, and by making it a border, Scandinavia would need to be bumped bonus wise.

This my idea about how to change Scandinavian continent:

add Norway - Murmask border
add Sweden - Poland border (linking Sweden to Denmark)

increase of 1 the continental bonus of Scandinavia and Western Europe

I think the continent is fine, and what you have proposed would make it a 4 country, 4 border continent which i dont think would be very good.
