Conquer 4 has been resurrected like the proverbial pheonix from the flames... Gimil is doing GFX... I'm doing XML.

Now that I thik about it the bonuses may be a little high. This could easily be abused in and freestlye game (esp speed). Im think if we jsut half all the bonuses there wont be as big a problem.

100% disagree.

You get 2 per line... for 4 hard to hold territories...

The bonuses are bang on.

woo lookin good - i actually wouldnt mind playing that now lol - (as the GFX now) but i know that gimil likes things to be perfect GFX wise ;)

great start, just out of interest gimil - who will give this the [adv. idea] Idea Stamp and he GFX Stamp?

Those will be givien to either oaktown or andy most likely. Althought I may find another deputy else where who is intrested :)

that confuses me....

who will give this the kaplowitz stamp tho? :D


either way the map looks good, but:

1) bonuses could use a little toning down
2) The colors could be a tad brighter
3) it could be more clear on where what bonuses are

Rights now...
1. you have two reds that don't match or compliment each other.
2. i had to really squint to read your names under the that line.
3. the perspective angle of the white and grey play button is all wrong compared to the rest of the board.
4. it is hard to determine the bonus configurations as they are quite dull.
5. and perhaps if the play buttons have that dimensional feel then the outside of the board could be given a bevel or similar feel.

Kap how is this for the red?

Bryguy I agree on the bonuses but yeti has a contrasting view. We'll jsut wait until the big hippo guy starts talking about gameplay.

The red is better, it doesnt help that i am at school.
And i think the high bonuses are good, it will be hard to hold some of those. But maybe not such a big jump for getting one terit.

Now further things...when you're ready!

1. The dimensionals appear to be clashing with each other....the outside bevel moves north-west, and the buttons bevel moves south-east...can you experiment to see if they would look better moving in the same direction, or at least so that the lighter edge of the bevel sits in the same corner/orientation.
2. the legend and names is very spaced out across the top, whereas the bonus area is very squashed. can you see if that be amended to perhaps give the bonus area some more space.
3. move the attack diagram down so that the bottom of that is in line with the bottom of the alpha characters.
4. can you move the buttons a little closer to each other horizontally so that there is some more space between the last colums of buttons and the bonus area.i.e. some more eye space.
5. the reds in the bonus area are all legible now, great.
looking good gimil.

I think the gray is too dark. It doesn't quite catch the "slate" look I think you're going for, but seeing as no one else minds it, I suppose I should shut up.

What is the point in the +20 bonus?

i don't think so. The bonus is only for a 4 x 4 square. I could be wrong, but i think it probably would be possible to still have players on the board even if you only conquer a 4 x 4 square.

Perhaps the +20 is a little high, given that you get +14 for 15 places.
How about +16 for 16 places?
