Yes, there are mountains between Austria and Italy. The next version of the map will make this a bit clearer.

You can go from Spain to Morocco, I figured it didn't need a line.

Yeah - I think there is a problem here. i left Romania unprotedted thinking there was a mountain. Then I of course was attacked from Moldova. No big deal, but now I cant fortify from Romania to Moldova? Seems like its only a one way route? I dont mind if this route is open or closed, but can it be made two way?

Well...if you look on the large map and look really really close in between the names "Moldova" and "Romania" and all of that white fogginess, you can see that the squiggly line that represents the mountains stop before it gets to the water. That should mean that both territories can attack each other...

Maybe take out the white "fogginess" all together, grim?

EDIT: Oh, and why don't you change "Turkey" to "Western Turkey"? You already have Eastern Turkey...

And...well...Iceland really looks weird. It's floated over to Norway all of a sudden...and it just...looks...weird. Do you think you could replace it with the Shetland Islands or something? Or maybe I'm just babbling utter nonsense...

Ah well. It looks great, otherwise..

Fogginess.... It's an outer glow, thank you very much!

:P

Anyway, since it was so slow at work today, I could spend most of my time getting paid to finish the map and the xml. The xml should be pristine, and the map should be much to everyone's liking... Well, you tell me.

P.S. Western Turkey can go play with my Western Huevos. Turkey stays.

Ah well, it's your map. :P

Btw, can Romania still attack Moldova? Or is it blocked off now? I can see a little space between them...maybe make the border (if it is) more obvious?

Much better now, though.

Maybe I'm being too picky but I think the words should be a bit brighter... that doesn't mean more glowy, but the only ones I think are a good brightness are the yellow ones. Those are nice and clear. But the other ones I kinda lean in to read. But its not a huge deal.

Actually, it's the map that needs fixing on that one. That's not supposed to be a legal move, just a border that got lost in the shuffle somehow. It'll be fixed, along with brightening the names. Now, about Moldova--->Romania....

This was a little secret that I wanted to throw in there, much like the Tadzhik--->Sinkiang in the Far East. If there's a general consensus that it's a bad idea, then we'll see what happens.

I have the Near East and attacked from Turkey to Greece and Albania. When I tried to fortify out of Albania though I couldn't return back along the invasion route to East Turkey or Turkey to protect my continent.

I think Moldova / Romania route needs be canceled, because its unfair with the players that dont visit the forum.

I also want to say your map is now much better after you enlarged it and eliminated the names fog. You should talk to lack, we need another mini version to the create / join games page.

Sorry, never mind it was a single fortification turn. Thought that it only meant a single transfer and not that it required it to be adjacent.

Romania / Moldova route is still there... I used it, heheh... How about remove the mountains?

Another bug: Saint Petersburg is not connected to Norway... Can you correct it?

Thanks, great map.

I think Grim said Norway and St. Petersburg weren't actually intended to be connected, so for clarity's sake the map should be tweaked to remove it.

With regards to removing the mountains, I think it would open Germany up too much, although a notice or something on the map saying its a one-way route would be fair. However, I still wouldn't mind it being secret, as I know about it

Europe map enhancement

Postby Fireside Poet on Mon Jul 03, 2006 10:36 am

This might seen frivolous, but a line connecting Spain with Morocco would be helpful on the map. It isn't real obvious with the Mediterranean between the two that that is a valid attack point.

Thanks.

I'll think its great. Its looks good and the graphics is nice. I have only a few questions:

Why Germany?
I think that East-Europe sounds better?

Why Belguim? Its better to call it Benelux (that's the official name of Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourgh together)

I hope you can do something with it and I look forward to play this game

Grtz
