I think the Land & Seas (map #132) should go with Geographic/World?

Actually, it should go in the rubbish bin. That map needs a revamp. Hive is the only map which can legitimately claim alphanumeric territory titles.

I'm not there to tell if a map must go in the bin or not. ;) I'm only trying to sort out a classification.
Also, I won't say a word on any map as I think it's a huge process for a mapmaker and a hard work. ;)

LIST UPDATED!

SEE NEW LSIT UPDATED - Nov. 6th

1/ I made the little corrections asked
2/ Some more colors for visibility
3/ Thema was almost done but to be completed/checked
4/ I added more categories, a few examples in each column (for the list finder)

I think it could be fine because :
1/ Enough sorting possibilities (columns)
2/ Not too much choices in each column
3/ fit into a single page (for CC SITE maybe)

Let me know your thought
Also, if anybody want to help in filling this list, I can give the excel tab away.
TY,
DJ

If it's available for NR's or bots, it can be listed as "easy" for difficulty, can't it?

Madness should be filed under 'Domestic'.
Chinese Checkers, Knights, Conquer 4,and Crossword should all be filed under 'Traditional Games'
King of the Hill should be filed under 'Shapes' (maybe also 'Games').
Ziggurat should be filed under 'Architecture'.
Pi School should be filed under 'Math' or maybe 'Educational' (assuming...).

By "King of the Hill", I'm assuming you mean "King of the Mountains"?

What's NR?
For the difficulty, I'm looking for somebody who know enough all maps to sort it out actually. We can also add a 4th grade for difficulty (very hard like das schloos, maybe HIVE)....
Do you think we should add also one column with "Playable BOT"? Yes or No!
I'm not aware with Bots....

Yes, why not but in the third column (for a comment).
I don't want to make too many different categories, we must keep a "grouping logic" like mad said about Land and Seas (we moved it from "seas" to "world").

honestly DJ, i haven't even played all the maps yet...

No But I have no idea how to list maps by difficulty. It's pretty hard to do I presume, and on wich criteria?
I thought you had your own idea on the subject. ;)
Never mind

Yeah, I have a set of criteria, but no time to work on it.

Maybe I'll just do a blank spreadsheet, and crowdsource it.

Duk and I were talking about this last night, he gave me what he has written out. I'm going to work on putting together a spreadsheet for it.

NR = New Recruit

As for the difficulty, Duk has a formula/system to calculate that out objectively, which will be included on the spreadsheet I'm going to draw up. We would rather use an objective system than a subjective system to classify the maps by difficulty. Everyone has a different opinion.

It seems like you're going to be getting too specific if you add in all of these categories. There's not much point in listing a category with two maps in it, you'd be better off broadening the categories so that they fall in place with others. I definitely don't know all of the maps, but... what other maps do we have that would fall under "math" or "shapes"?

Ouha, really good to see you both helping in this project! DO you need my excel file by mail?
Let me know by pm ;)
And yes we must have something objective, I'm impatient to see this algorythm or formula ;)
I presume it will be based on a few [if ... = y /n....].

NR ok 8-)

Indeed ! No need to add a category for only one or two maps! But for "historic-other period" we could think to add a few categories maybe. We'll see

Yeah, sorry, I had some stuff come up in real life that took precedence over this. I probably won't have a chance to look at this until after the new year.

I actually would like to see something that is difficulty rated/listed.

Pretty simple concept.

Easy/Beginner
Normal
Hard
Eye-Gouger (Tempe of Jinn)
You won't win unless everyone deadbeats (WWI Gallipoli)

Don't bump just for the sake of bumping.

However, I will have something to show you in a few days.
