Community Overhaul

Concise description:
  • There are lots of suggestions languishing, like this one

Specifics/Details:
  • Start implementing some of these suggestions instead of locking them
  • Community revival will allow us to monetize the forum horizontally.
  • It is what it is

How this will benefit the site and/or other comments:
  • More medals
  • we might set a record for most recursions of a thread
  • we just need to be sneakier about it
  • Hey! Look over there!

I support this suggestion to overhaul Community and start implementing Suggestions for the betterment of the site.

We should start by implementing this suggestion, which includes a sub-clause implementing other suggestions and could kill 4 birds with one stone.

This suggestion would be good for the website, if implemented.

Seems like a pretty solid suggestion.

No we dont need doers, we need Visionaries. Did you not see the OP cite payoff in horizontal monetizations? FFS, coders dont bring horizontal monetization, the only group that can produce that deliverable is a good solid marketing team and if they're really good you might be looking at multi-directional monetization.

Coders! Pfft. They could only give you a better website.

+1 for me

Exactly. The most important change to be made is that CC needs people who think 'how can we do this?'.

If people are negative and do not believe, then they will never achieve, but if they ask themselves 'how can we do this?', they will find a way and they will prevail. And CC will be great again!

What we really need to do is seize the means of production.

That's right, forum posters are workers.

And that is why us high volume posters deserve medals for posting, as fair reward for all our hard labor keeping CC afloat.

It's all about content in this viral-obsessed environment. Millenials are choosing alternatives. We can't be lagging in the 24/7 world of today.

No, attempting to make CC relevant to a modern audience is a bad investment. The only worthwhile path to take is to let it slip into oblivion along with other noble sites like Friends Reunited, bolt.com and that website where you made a profile and then people could send you messages anonymously*.

*this one was great - the idea was meant to be that people asked each other questions and then you posted the questions and answers on your profile, but the reality was that girls just received aggressive sexual leering and cyber bullying, and the boys received cyber bullying.

Bah, attracting millennials is easy..

Step 1 - We need a big time you tuber to rage while playing this game
Step 2 - Name events, maps and challenges after stupid trends or memes that lasted less than a week
Step 3 - Make a way for players to be able to gamble/win/mostly lose money
Step 4 - We need the same big you tuber to livestream themself raging about losing money
Step 5 - Make ranks cost money and games no longer count towards rank
Step 6 - Make ranks cost even more money to look even shinier
Step 7 - No more risk, no millennial will want to play that shit
Step 8 - Make it an app and name it War of ________
Step 9 - Close the site

With some steps I was being somewhat serious.

Threre's no way to withdrawl or spend conquer credits on anything other than membership or tournies. I think an expansion of the gambling aspect and more ways to use credits would bring more interest to the site without disturbing the longtime community. A lot of the new ways to use credits could be useless, such as an inclusion of emblems that you can buy and show off. Some people will like to show off.

I envision a daily speed tournie's tab with small buy in's to win money (8 - 16 members would fill) with a weekly big tourny of 32 members to win more money. Eventually it could be expanded if popular to include multiple different buy-ins and tournament types with more thn 1 running daily .

speed tourneys sound like a good idea.

Ok. However, for it to be understood it needs to be coded in jargon and buzzwords. Unless it's going to shift a paradigm, nobody will take it seriously.

I would like to retract the above post and reissue it, amended to say 'feed 4 birds with one scone'.

I am sorry to our avian brothers and also to Metsfanmax for my insensitivity.
