Map Name: Paris
Mapmaker(s): sempaispellcheck (idea, xml, gameplay), josko.ri (graphics, gameplay)
Number of Territories: 39
Special Features: Starting neutrals, autodeploy, partial bonuses
What Makes This Map Worthy of Being Made: This map continues the great tradition of CC city maps established by the NYC map. Paris is one of the world's most famous cities - a fantastic tourist destination with a long and eventful history. It is also, according to Jon Stewart's America: the Book, "the world's most...seizable city." If ten (count them, ten) different groups/tribes/etc. can take Paris, why can't we?

The idea for this map belongs to sempaispellcheck.
However, he did not have enough free time to commit to the development of the map, but he left the door open for someone else to pick up where he left off.
After reading his thread, I decided to offer to help him with the graphics so the map can go live.
We have decided to work together on finishing the map, although I am also a beginner in terms of graphics, so we cannot promise quick progress in the early phases of development.

The original thread about the Paris map development can be found here:

I like the map but it needs a LOT of work to make it by CC standards. I know because my map needs it too...

no offense to wauuw or his map of paris, but i think a nice, simple map like this would be just super.

And that's why I abandoned it in the first place - I wasn't willing to put in that work. If someone else wants to try it, I say let them have it.

Thank you for the approval.

I am now learning how to use GIMP to be able to make graphics for the map.
I hope to have new update soon.

for the first update, rather than trying anything ambitious, why don't u name île saint-louis and draw a bridge to connect it to something?

edit: i see now, it's part of notre dame and contains its star; to make it less confusing by associating the star with the notre dame name, draw a bridge to connect the two islands.

As I said, I am now learning how to draw graphics in GIMP, it takes some time.
I told in the OP that first steps of making progress will be slow because I am still learning but once when I get it done the progress will be more smooth.
I will make the first real update since the last sempai's version during January.
There is a post from koontz in his original thread summarizing what all need to be done to make the map look better.

Half the number of territories to around 20. Make it a worthy competitor to Doodle and Luxembourg.
