side action panel

So I have been playing a bit in the Panel formation. While it is weird in some ways, what I really do like about it is that you can put the deploy/attack/advance buttons up beside the map. is there a way to also make this a side-view item in the regular non-panel set up? There are many maps where I have to constantly scroll down to access the control buttons, and it would be great to have it handy on the side.
