Amusingly, once Fc took over for me, I suggested that Agent 86 would have to flag soon as the early morning hours rolled by. Therefore, concentrate on Mad Pineapples and the game would be won in a couple of hours tops. However, Agent 86 rarely gives anything up easily...apparently even when merely babysitting for another account. Is his nine and a half hours a record for a babysitter in a speed game?
Finally, much kudos to Fruitcake. I can't think of another player I'd rather have take over a tight three man game. I went to bed confident of the points and sure enough Fc delivered the goods!

There's been a few of these threads over the years, but the data gets lost eventually. I think the problem is that the forum is inherently not a great medium for storing data.

If you wanted to start a spreadsheet and collect some stats, that would be a great service to the community.

Here's some of the oldest games:
Game 1026097 -- more than 10 years old now, in round 5899. Those are some dedicated girls!
Game 2904361 -- 9.5 years old, round 3252. Probably the longest-running Francophone game.

The above two are the last surviving games from the years before I joined the site. There were some other legendary games that ran many years. I'm not quite sure how to find them now, but maybe some of the other people around here could help out.

Here's some other really old games

I'd be really curious to see which is the oldest game in which there is actual fighting going on.

Anyway, let me know if you want to take this on as a project and do some kind of spreadsheet. I'll move this thread to GD and headline it, and you can collect data. Othewise, I'll just leave it here as a curiosity.

I made a thread in the general discussion forum not too long ago. Nevertheless, anybody can make a game last years and years... we found one that was 10 years old and still going. it's a very stupid thing to do and i wouldn t encourage that behaviour.

Well, a lot of the oldest games no longer involve any fighting. They're basically just miniature social hangouts. That isn't "stupid", really. People hang out all kinds of places and go through social rituals, hanging out in an old game is not that different from hanging out at your old coffee shop.

Nonetheless, I would like to also identify long-running games where the people are still fighting. That would be an interesting study.

For some people it will be funny to have just a look.

If there are games where people are "fighting", it s rather because there is a never ending stalement and no one is willing to do anything about it.

I still think it's absolutely stupid and people doing that have something wrong going on. If you want to hang out with people, (in this case with strangers that you happened to like) just go talk to them on the forum, or create a usergroup or whatever. Comitting yourself to go play a turn on an unfinishable game every day for 10 years is ridiculously dumb. Isn t life too short to have to commit to such thing? The more you play it.... the less you are willing to give up on it... and it takes an importance it should never have in the first place. These people have become slaves to these stupid unfinishable games. The day they will end... they will have a bitter taste in mouth... wondering why at least they didn't play a few real games rather than playing stalement for years.

My feedback is that I love this idea, but there is a lot to be done. For starters, you need to mine the threads that DoomYoshi has provided links for. There's a lot more material to be found inside those threads. I know it's slow and boring work, but if this Hall of Fame is to gain value, that is work which needs to be done.

2-player games, or those that are still 2-player, should have an asterisk beside them. 3-player games legitimately stalemate. 2-players is game abuse.

That's why I classified into social or not. Social are the one where the stalemate is clearly abused.
Now I'm looking for more games to fill the other categories.

It could be great also to have this kind of hall of fame for tourneys (except for CC cup obviously). Every victory is great but some are more outstanding.

For example, I will not forget my first tourney victory as it was on a 370 players tourney, which last 3 years :
