Climate change is upon us. After yet another season of unusual monsoonal activity, the wetlands have received once again years worth of rain in the space of a month.
The violent rivers sweep up all life in front of them as they rage towards the coast. Combining with the high tides and mixing with the ocean currents, Mother Nature is cunning, and the marine life is adapting. Who once was confined to fresh water can now thrive in the choppy surf. In one small bay, peaceful and tranquil, the towering cliff face is only out sized by the depth of the water below. It is on this small reef where the species collide, but co-exist happily.... for a time.
The shadows begin to appear.
First they came from the deep, violent and bloody, then others start appearing from the surface during the early morning sunrise. Their tentacles pierce the reef and entice the hungry, but are easily discovered by the wise reef inhabitant. Quickly the reef dwellers learn that the ever increasing night shadows are the ones to avoid. Seen only on a full moon, they are deadly when travelling across the top of the reef, and indiscriminate with their killing of those seduced.
Dawn breaks, a limp figure is on the reef, closer inspection reveals the Swordfish, lifeless and decaying. The fastest fish in the world has succumbed to the elements somehow, mutated fins and discoloring scales... this is not natural....
The shadows are not to blame. How is this evil possible in such a magical place?
DAY 1 BEGINS... GOOD LUCK

jfm, who is Blurp Blurp? btw, even if you wanted to make it funny, you should have bolded the words... because your joke vote isn't even a vote, at least per rules.
anyway, I know it's too early to hunt scum, but I'll go with my old strategy and vote people whoever vote for NPC's. Vote jfm10

You see, while it's really too early to scumhunt, OMGUS vote is another scummy material. I can't help myself but you are on the top of my list for now.

First round seems kind of random, so I'll go with the person who spoke up first.

Pfft, it's never too early to scumhunt! Skoffin for instance is clearly scum, and nobody has any actionable evidence to the contrary.
Would anybody else remain silent in the face of my earlier accusations? Clearly only a practised killer could remain mum in these circumstances! Or, dare I say, a swarm of them!? Perhaps she remains quiet purely by dint of the fact she does not speak our language, being an outsider in our ocean home, but what greater sign of guilt could there possibly be? Act now, friends! We must purge the seas of these murderous invaders!

I planned on joke-voting the first player to give a somewhat serious reason for his vote but joke band-wagonning isn't my thing so I'll have to vote aage because preventing me to vote dakky is mean.
@players in DBD, does jfm usually play in your clan games? That's going to affect the weight I give to his OMGUS vote on dakky

I'm going to decline to vote during these stages of jocularity. Let's get the serious talks started!
With 16 of us, how many do you think might be scum?
How many of us are playing to win the mafia game and how many are attempting to win credits? That could change how the votes are done.

My guess would be 4 scum players; question would be whether they will all be on the same side.
I'm here for the credits as I have 5 kids to feed. Before Pika jumps in on that; that's not a fish joke, it's a goat joke.

cool theme to this game. I wonder who are the sharks in our midst. vote Ragian because...just because.

He has played with us before... kinda makes sense as he is DBD
chapcrap wrote:With 16 of us, how many do you think might be scum?
Ive read that the ratio is normally 3:1, so I reckon there are 4 or 5 anti town roles here

Ill take both, thank you

As we all know sharks have no shadows, SO IT MUST BE THE SHADOWS OF A KILLER PIRANHA SWARM! VOTE SKOFFIN BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE!

That is some blatant shark racism (specism?) going on here.

I would gauge there are 5 bad guys and either 11 town, or 10 town and 1 3rd party. For the latter, I like a whale shark, which is a filter feeder (eats plankton), not a predator; and, which casts a huge shadow. Yes, all this from my vantage of ignorance on Day 1. The mods certainly have a cornucopia to choose from for roles. There are sailfish, barracudas, etc....various types of fish Then there are sharks, rays, and skates....elasmobranchs And, squids, octopuses, and cuttlefish....cephalopods, a type of Mollusc Then they could go downscale to do sea cucumbers, jellyfish, etc. Might be hard to assign a town vs scum designation based on the role. Finally, there are 7 DBD players and 9 non-DBD players, but I doubt that has anything to do with intentions, nefarious or otherwise. This should be interesting....glta.

Do you, as a fellow denizen of the sea, not also know this basic information about the world around us?
