I'm in, but wanted to know how points are awarded if your opponent kills you without following the rules, or you nuke yourself out (don't laugh, it happens - just ask GeNnY group members  ).

The only way to win points is by winning by the four rules:

THE ONLY WAYS TO WIN AND SCORE POINTS!!!!
1.) Nuke your opponents last spot on the map. You can attack them as much as you want but you can't attack their last spot. If you win by eliminating them by attacking you will lose.

2.) To have the most troops at the end of the 20 round limit

3.) Your opponent misses three turns in a row

4.) Your opponent nukes them self out of the game

So if your opponent nukes themselves or they attack your last spot then you win. The first would be rule number 4 so you get the win in the round they nuke themselves out in. The second would be a violation of rule number 1 which makes your opponent lose; by default since your opponent loses you win in the round they attack your last territory.

The point here is to figure out how to quickly kill your opponent with the nuclear cards. going on til a round 20 win will only award 1 point, and surely those will not win this tournament.

I changed rule number 1 to:

1.) Nuke your opponents last spot on the map. You can attack them as much as you want but you can't attack their last spot. If you win by eliminating them by attacking you will lose and your opponent wins.

so that will hopefully make it more clear

i dont mind your be quick to win to win rules, but you let things come down to luck to a very very large degree.. i dont really like that.

lets resumee, you can ONLY win if you nuke the other guy out of the game so you should be lucky enough to have a set, with his lasts territs on it... even if you have won the game.. and otherwise even if you normally could have won on turn 2, you get only 1 point(for having the most troops on turn 20...)?
thats... sick...

so throw strategy out of the window, the guy who in his games gets 2 games witha 3 spoil set and 3 terits on it nukes the other guy is the sure winner...talk about luck of the game....

Well 1 v 1 is a lot about luck anyways but round robin and 20 games helps to balance that out. The odds of your opponent getting that lucky 3 set is just as good as you getting it against your opponent. And you can always protect yourself by stacking on a card you own in nuclear :). Winning by stalemate to round 20 shows you have no skill on how to trick your opponent on to the proper territories so that is why it awards the least amount of points.

Of course doodle earth by itself can be a very dice based map, but a larger map with these rules of nuking out your opponent could end up taking forever so I figured it wouldn't work.

The quickest win in the other tourney has been round 12 which would be a 9 point award. But again I think the round robin should help to balance out any luck over the long run. Of course the more games the better but with work and school I don't have time to create lots of games.

9 spots left if interest is still lacking when we get to 16 I may start the round robin then. 3 sets of games, 5 games, 6 games, 5 games.

I make a note in the tourney name that says MUST ELIMINATE WITH A NUKE so that tends to help.

I'll also try to post in games if it works, and of course send a message reminder of the rules before I send out the batches each round
