Take the Tour, USA's Hot Spots [Winner: Godd]

How about taking a tour of the USA's 25 most popular destinations? Game by game you'll explore these popular destinations, starting with #25 on the list and ending with #1 on the list. The winner is the first person to get to the final destination. I got this idea when I happened to see one of those lists that pop up with your email. And I never get to go anywhere :( so I figure this is the only way to get to these places :P .

The games will be 1v1, winner moving onto the next destination on the list. All games will be on maps that feature part or all of the USA:

American Civil War - played 2x
Dust Bowl - played 2x
Great Lakes - played 3x
North America :?: - played 1x
NYC - played 1x
Pearl Harbor - played 1x
Prohibition Chicago - played 2x
Puget Sound - played 1x
Rail USA - played 1x
San Francisco - played 1x
Texan Wars - played 2x
The Citadel - played 1x
U.S. Senate - played 1x
USA - played 1x
USApocalypse - played 1x
Charleston - played 2x
USA Great Lakes - played 2x
USA New England - played 1x
USA Rockies - played 1x
USA Southeast - played 1x
USA Southwest - played 1x
USA West - played 2x

Settings will be: 1v1, seq., random spoils, random fortifications, sunny. There will be 1 game at a time, so freemiums are welcome as long as you are sure to keep 1 slot open.

Everyone starts out in #25, Atlantic City Boardwalk, New Jersey and the goal is to reach #1, Times Square, New York City, N.Y.

I really would like participants to have no less than a 95% turn avg. in order to keep certain notorious deadbeaters from joining. Example: Grimreaper. Pairings will be randomly made by Random.org's list maker.

No one gets booted from the tourney, you play your game and with every win you "take a flight" to the next destination on the Hot Spot list. And the first one to get to every destination wins. These are the destinations on the Top 25 list I got from MSN.com:

1. Times Square, New York City, N.Y.
2. The Las Vegas Strip, Nev.
3. National Mall and Memorial Parks, Washington, D.C.
4. Faneuil Hall Marketplace, Boston, Mass.
5. Disney World's Magic Kingdom, Lake Buena Vista, Fla.
6. Disneyland Park, Anaheim, Calif.
7. Fisherman's Wharf/Golden Gate National Recreation Area, San Francisco, Calif.
8. Niagara Falls, N.Y.
9. Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Tenn./N.C.
10. Navy Pier, Chicago, Ill.
11. Lake Mead National Recreation Area, Ariz./Nev.
12. Universal Studios Orlando/Islands of Adventure at Universal Orlando, Fla.
13. SeaWorld Florida, Orlando, Fla.
14. San Antonio River Walk, Texas
15. Temple Square, Salt Lake City, Utah
16. Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, Penn./N.J.
17. Universal Studios Hollywood, Calif.
18. Metropolitan Museum, New York, N.Y.
19. Waikiki Beach, Oahu, Hawaii
20. Grand Canyon, Ariz.
21. Busch Gardens Africa, Tampa Bay, Fla.
22. Cape Cod National Seashore, Mass.
23. SeaWorld San Diego, San Diego, Calif.
24. American Museum of Natural History, New York
25. Atlantic City Boardwalk, New Jersey

So you'd start out in A.C. and travel around the country by winning your games :)

When I start thinking... I don't understand the system completely. I mean, if you lose a game then you are out because there's no way to catch up with the leader... or is there? Have you thought through all possibilities that might happen? Or could you explain a bit more? I'm probably missing something important...

No problem, I added a little more to the first post. So no one will be eliminated, it should be the same 16 people playing throughout until someone reaches #1 on the list, Times Square, NYC. I'll have everyone's locations in the second post.

Is it random maps as well? Or is there an order?

So, from what I can tell the only maps used would be:

Dust Bowl
Great Lakes
North America (maybe)
NYC
Puget Sound
San Francisco
USA
USApocalypse
Charleston

Right? I think those are the only ones that fit the description. I'm also assuming that all games are sunny as no mention of fog was made, correct?

Dependent upon the answers to these, I might just very well join up. Just wanted to check first though.

If you lose your first game, you can still catch up because the person ahead of you might lose some games while you win others, which lets you move up the list while they stay stuck where they are. Basically it's a race to see who can get to 25 wins first is all.

Since it's a "tour" of the USA, any map used will be one that is of the USA or part of the USA, not in any particular order.

And thx for reminding me about the fog  I'll make the addition, and all games will be sunny and you're right about the maps OP.

Sounds good to me. I can handle those maps I think, although perhaps I need a little more practice on NYC.

Sign me up. I should be able to handle one game at a time.

You might think about listing the maps that can be randomly chosen so that players will know. :)

So... when you make pairs, the map is chosen randomly aswell, from the list you made there? Or how is the map decided? There's no 'home player decides' kinda thing, right?

Correct, the games for the particular round will be randomly chosen from the selection listed. Are you playing? Only 1 spot left, and room for a few reserves.

Updated.
