edit: mc29. This Tournament has been rescued by elonpuckhog
UPDATE!!! I have updated the first two weeks of play to reflect the 48 player beginning. The overall play will remain the same, but some slight changes have been made to reflect the lesser amount of players.I have also been told I can only have 1 winner, so I have decided that the person with the most points will be the overall winner. 5 more players will give me an even 48
This tourney is for 48 players. It is open to premium members only due to the Week 1 and Week 2 games, sorry Freemiums. It is similar to deantursx's Tourney Gambler's Heaven, but I asked him if I could use some of his concept to create this tourney. The tourney is played using some concepts used in the WSOP (World Series of Poker) in that there is both cash and points won. One big difference from the WSOP is that players are eliminated as the tourney progresses.
I will be looking for 4 reserves as well, who would take over point and cash standings for a player in the first 2 "weeks" of tourney.
All players start with $2500.00. The different events have different point and "cash payout" amounts. All players will play in weeks 1 and 2, and players will begin with 3 games in each of these 2 weeks. When week 2 is complete, eliminations will begin to take place. There are 4 weeks total. The final round of games in the tourney is going to be entitled "The Big One".
Game settings vary depending on each event. Most player match-ups for games in weeks 1 and 2 will be determined randomly. Those games that are finals obviously will not need to be done this way. A number of different maps will be used. However, what will remain the same throughout the tourney are the following settings:
Cash and point totals recalculated. All players at this point who have have not at least received a payout have no cash and are thus eliminated. These players also will have no point ranking and will also not be on the Points or Cash Leaderboard.
All remaining players who have less than $1,250.00 in cash will play in a special round of games to pool all their remaining cash into one big pot. Depending on the number of players in this round will determine the necessary payouts. For example, if I have 10 players with less than $1,250.00, then those 10 players will play in a series of games and the top 3 would get a payout of 50%, 30% and 20%. If the number were 8 players, It would be one single game of 8 where payouts are only 75% and 25%, and so on.
Update: Changed week 3 game initial buy-in amounts to compensate for change in player number.
Points and cash will be tallied after each event of week 3 in order to eliminate players. Once there are only 8 players remaining in the tourney, week 4 will commence. If the number of players reaches 8 before event 3, then week 4 will begin.
Final cash standings will be tallied and winner will be announced and posted. The winner is the player with the most cash at the end of this final set of games.
We've had some players tell me personally that they want in, so the # of players shown is greater than those that have replied. But the list can still be found on the first post.
