PLAYERS VS VOLUNTEERS
Original Thread: viewtopic.php?t=194199

The name says it all. This is a tourney designed to put players vs Volunteers of all kinds, TDs, Carts, C/A, and everyone else!

Round Layout:
There will be 8 player teams fighting against each other in 5 1v1 games per round. The two lists of players are randomized, then the person plays the people two spots above, two spots below, and in the same position as them on the other side. 9 and 1 will loop back around.

Those who have the fewest points at the end of the round will be cut.
Tiebreakers will be games made with the same settings, first eliminated is the one out.

So in the end, round 8, there will be a player and a volunteer fighting for the win, and hopefully they will be the best representative in the tournament.

Game Settings:
1v1
Random Map
Standard
Sequential
Automatic
Escalating
Chained
Foggy
24 Hour Round Length
50 Round Limit

Team Making Policy:
All players who sign up will be part of the tourney. There will be preliminary rounds, set up as shown above, to decide who makes the 8 Player team. However- If we have 16 volunteers sign up, we will have a Group A & B, then do a doubles game in round 8 instead of 1v1. 24 volunteers will result in a triples game, and I will change the layout if we get more than that, which would be incredible.

Premium Only, gameload of 5.

Update

We're in the closing phase of Round 5 as we let the Tiebreaker for the Players play out, to decide whether Erland or rmjw10 will be eliminated. After an exceptional round for the Volunteers, crazymilkshake5 is the one leaving from the team, as his 2 wins weren't enough compared to his teammates' 3 wins apiece.

Round 6 onwards will be slightly different. Since there will be less than 5 players on each team, but we still need 5 games per player to be played, you will face random opponents more than once in a round! Yep, doesn't make much of a difference - I did say it was slight :P

Update

Sorry for the delay, I've been overseas so my tournaments have been on hold.

Both teams require a tiebreaker, so I shall wait for these to be completed before moving on to Round 7. With 3 players per team, we're close to the end!

Update

Just 1 game remaining in Round 7, but it's definitely a pivotal (and rather back-and-forth) one. If Gilligan wins, he escapes elimination on the Volunteers team while andypl0nd0n dukes it out against his teammates in a 3-way tiebreaker. If andypl0nd0n wins, he advances to the next round without having to play the tiebreaker, while Gilligan plays a tiebreaker against TheForgivenOne to stay alive.

Update

We have our first finalist - andypl0nd0n, representing the Players.

Meanwhile, both the semifinalists from the Volunteers tied with 2 games apiece, and so will be moving into a tiebreaker game to decide the finalist.

From there, it's just 5 more games till we crown our winner!

Update

The final set has ended, and it was a close one indeed with andypl0nd0n just taking the win with a 3-2 victory margin over Evil Semp! He's definitely a worth winner though, with a stellar consistent performance throughout the rounds of the tournament, often having 3 or 4 victories - other than a few off-days in Round 1 and 6.

So that's that, and CONGRATULATIONS TO ANDYPL0ND0N!!! =D> =D> =D>
