Easiest does not always equal quickest, unfortunately.
As I said before, I have been a bit busier than anticipated with non-CC stuff, but I'm doing the best I can.

Slow, but steady. I have done my first pass for Stamps 1-8 and 13, and am doing Stamp 9 now.
Once I finish my first pass for all 16 stamps, I will award the first batch of medals.

That's the good news. The bad news is, I have about 1000 games (or more) to go through for each stamp, so it could even take a while longer.

Nope. I do it all by hand...well, not literally, but you know what I mean.

Yup, i d be interested to know how many hours spent to compile all this.. I was already impressed by the time you had to spend with the thousands of games for the official olympics tourney last year. I don t know which one is worse..

Slowly. RL has gotten in the way quite a bit.
Will probably PM some people shortly (those of you who have been bugging me, plus a few others) to see if I can get any help.

You should have just made it a rule that in order to get the medal you needed to post the game numbers in this forum lol woulda saved you a boat load of time :P

This is true, but that may well have denied medals to a boatload of people - and that's what I'm trying to avoid.

Why should they deserve a medal if they don't put in some work themselves to get it?

I get that you want to get medals to as many people as possible but I think you are doing it at the expense of getting medals out in a timely fashion to others.

I think you should allow people who want to post here to get their medals and you can do a quick check of them. Then whenever you have your extra time you can go through and search through the tons of games to try to find other people to issue medals to.

The people interested in participating in your competition can make the small effort of listing the game numbers corresponding to each stamp. If some people got enough stamps just by accident, well they probably didn t care about the competition and the prizes in the first place.
I guess you have to admit that this method is a mistake, everyone warned you in december and you implied that you had a "magic method" to make this in no time (thought you could extract data automatically). The fact is that you have to do it 100% manually, and that is absolutely crazy time consuming, with 90% of irrelevant information to classify.
I don t understand how you didn t see it coming and in what situation you were putting yourself into...
We can t blame you because it comes from a good intention, give out prizes to people who might have won it by accident, or lazy people that would rather see you take the effort. Nevertheless I hope you ve learned your lesson and that next time you ll ask people to post their games so you just do a fast check. This method is absolutely not worth it.

This is like making a miss america contest and you start checking all american women in the country, aged 1 to 99 that didn t even want to participate in the first place.

I did indeed take people up on their offers of assistance - a few fellow mods who have proven themselves trustworthy.
I am cautiously optimistic that the first set of prizes will go out by next weekend.
After that, all that's left is the games posted in the thread and the games that were still active the first time we looked.

We are getting there.

OK. After months of data collection and analysis by myself and my army of minions a few generous and hard-working fellow mods (who have been compensated for their time and effort), the first pass has been completed.
As of right this moment, there are 2151 players who have earned at least
a) One stamp,
b) One-third of Stamp 9 (poly), AND/OR
c) One-quarter of Stamp 16 (maps released in 2013).

There are 14 players who have already collected all 16 stamps.
And they are:
bahrain,
betiko,
ckyrias,
cooldeals,
Dukasaur,
Gilligan,
GioDuce,
hwhrhett,
Jdsizzleslice,
jdw35,
jigger1986,
jonofperu,
pleve, and
simmons4
Congratulations to all of you on a job very well done!

If you feel your name should be there, don't despair just yet. There are slightly less than 200 eligible games that are marked as having been active when data for their particular stamp was collected.

I have just taken a quick glance through the thread and logged a few extra stamps earned through eligible games which happened to fall outside of my game number ranges.
I will hand out the first batch of prizes tonight or tomorrow.
After that, I will begin periodically rechecking the games currently marked as active so that stamps may be awarded when they finish.

Depending on how many games are still active at that point, I may decide on a deadline for active games to finish in order to still be eligible for stamps.

Many thanks to everyone who participated, and I hope the people I've heard say it was fun are not simply a vocal minority (though I am glad they are vocal)!
