It isn't stupid because nobody says, "the fourteenth of March." They say, "March fourteenth." In the same way you don't start locating a house by starting at the address number, you start by narrowing down to the street, then looking for the house number.

But yeah, I don't have much of a defense for the imperial system. Its only strength is that units are regular, usage sized, like for cooking. A cup is a reasonable amount which one can guesstimate, but I have no idea how many mLs that is, nor how to approximate multiple hundreds of mLs.

No, my Uncle used to. I did drive through Ramsey this morning before going passed the hotels.

I was volunteering in the count room of Cash Casino for the little guys school. I have worked on the Dominion Bridge property for a while, a few times when F&D scene changes was in there.

In Canada when you play blackjack at a Casino a portion of the money lost goes to charities. In order to get that money the charity needs to provide volunteers to count the money for two nights. So the parent teacher association of the school my kid goes to did that yesterday.

I grew up in West Dover if it makes you feel better.

I still lived in West Dover when I flew regularly. It's getting close to $175/hour to rent a plane in many places. It's worse in Europe.

It seemed expensive to fly back then and it was under $100/hour.

I looked into training and all that because I've always wanted to fly. I checked like 3?-ish years ago in Oregon and it was around $5k-8k for training, certification, rental, etc. Guess I'll have to wait until I win the lottery. It sucks because my grandfather had a plane, but I think he sold it before he died.

You can pay as you go. Most pilots will tell you to never pay until you have flown the flight.

A fairly common scam is to charge students up front then close the school. Kind of like gyms and a few other shady businesses.

you guys are used to everything easy. 8k might seem a lot of money for the rest of the world but for you guys is what.. 3 months of pay? considering you're a white little boy i bet you can easily find a job that pays 2500 per month. if you really wanted it you'd made the sacrifice. shut up.

but because you're in school right? you're working part time.

how much does in n out pays? doesnt it pay like 12 dls ? and you dont have to be very smart to qualify. obviously most people pay rent and bills.. i get it but 8k for an american shouldn't be super expensive for something that you want and that potentially could be a career.

and, if i may, thinking like that wont get you anywhere, the brain is going on non stop, dont feed it that kind of thoughts or you will only find reinforcement for those ideas.

That's also an American thing. People here say 'fourteenth of March'.

Well then it makes sense why we would use the format we do. It's like you driving on the wrong side of road and steering cars from the wrong side. It's appropriate to the usage of the culture. So there.

Hm, now if only there were a word for the type of young foreign woman who entertains frequent visitors at her flophouse...

Yeah, TG should stop wasting his money on frivolities like food and rent and then he'd be able to save more.
