You want mistakes? You want bad grammar? Well look no further. Direct from LuLu; Tzor's Dungeons and What Trilogy. Come see the progression of first edition AD&D characters as they progress from first level all the way to the brass ring of "Name" level.

Volume I
Volume II
Volume III

Anyway, exciting (not really) spoiler (again, not really) follows ...

Man is the measure of all things. That is to say, because the word can be confused at times and associated with all sorts of things, those who are of the race we commonly call “human,” is the basis that all the other races measure themselves to. Even such simple basic measurements of length are based on that of man. The “foot” is not based on the length of a Halfling’s foot, nor is it based on the length of the Ogre, but that of man.

...

Joseph was a Man, a Human, and a male, which in the Common tongue were terms that easily got confused. Joseph grew up as a good and righteous boy, and was, as was generally the custom with Men, known by his shortened name of “Joe.” His father was a merchant in the city of Eboracum, selling various items from the far distant city of Londinium. It was in this setting that he grew up hearing about all the wonders of the great city. He heard the stories of the great King of Londinium. He heard stories of the great and powerful wizards of Londinium as well as the great and holy clerics of Londinium. It was a place where the rich and powerful literally went above the common people by riding carpets that flew through the air. In time he would wonder if the people of the caravans were just exaggerating for the sake of a good story, but he could never be sure.
