Is that how you get OFF, fake bunnie? Lie, twist the details, and TRY TO annoy people? You are lower than a bunnie, fake buggie.

As predicted, DACA back in the news:

#1 Government shuts down on one-year anniversary of Trump presidency

https://www.cbsnews.com/amp/news/govern ... e-updates/

The White House on Saturday indicated it would not negotiate on the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program while the government is shutdown, but Democrats want a fix on that immigration issue, putting the parties at a seeming impasse. There is nothing on the president's public schedule for Sunday.

#2 The Latest: Senate GOP plans a vote aimed at ending shutdown
https://www.yahoo.com/news/latest-trump ... itics.html

Democrats have blamed the shutdown on Republicans, who control Congress and the White House. Republicans say Democrats are "holding our government hostage" to win protections for young immigrants brought to the country illegally as children.

#3 also, from the BBC:

The US Senate is due back in session to try to end a budget impasse before the start of the working week when the shutdown of many federal services will be felt around the country.

Hundreds of thousands of federal staff face the prospect of unpaid leave.

On Saturday, recriminations flew around over the Senate's failure to pass a new budget and prevent the shutdown.

A bill to fund the federal government for the coming weeks did not receive the required 60 votes by Friday.

The Republican leader of the US Senate, Mitch McConnell, has said there will be a vote at 01:00 in the early hours of Monday (06:00 GMT) on a bill to fund the government until 8 February.

The last government shutdown was in 2013, and lasted for 16 days.
Why can the two sides not agree?

This is the first time a government shutdown has happened while one party, the Republicans, controls both Congress and the White House.

The vote on Friday was 50-49, falling far short of the 60 needed to advance the bill. With a 51-seat majority in the Senate, the Republicans do not have enough votes to pass the bill without some support from the Democrats.

They want funding for border security - including the border wall - and immigration reforms, as well as increased military spending.

The Democrats have demanded protection from deportation of more than 700,000 undocumented immigrants who entered the US as children.

Where are we NOW?

Jan. 18, 2018

House passes one-month, stopgap spending measure without addressing DACA. Senate Democrats unite around demands that any spending bill must protect the Dreamers, expand federal intervention in the opioid crisis, assist hurricane-battered Puerto Rico, and include an agreement on a longer-term budget deal that raises strict spending caps on military and nonmilitary spending.

Trump says that Puerto Rico is in the middle of the Ocean, so it's going to be an issue. If only Puerto Rico was in the middle of Iraq, we could help these people.

DACA's going to die because the dems are cowards and the Republicans will eventually figure out the extremely difficult process of passing legislation while only controlling the senate, house, presidency, and judiciary. They aren't the cleverest bunch, but we'll see McConnell's smug turtle face tighten (slightly) with glee soon enough. The real question is will the dems learn from the ordeal and actually stand up for the left, or if we need to primary the shit out of them.

My money is on the latter.

It's funny how Americans go on about how China's legal system is partial and verdicts influenced by government interests, and yet America is a country in which judges can be 'conservative' or 'liberal' and political parties know which judges are on their 'side' and will uphold their own party interests.

Comparing single- and two-party states is a thing one could do. One could do that to make a point.

I can't wait for a merit based immigration program. Then the USA won't import any more inbred idiots like Karel and hopefully hopefully the country as a whole can begin to end their war against intelligence
