Perhaps instead of making it personal and obsessing about one of our members, you'd be better served by providing people with solid information on this subject.

I don't disapprove of the Nazi guy, I think he's evil. You know that Manstein was a prominent Nazi. We've had this discussion many times. I really don't know how to change your mind.

Let's be really clear about this- Manstein was a Nazi and he was a leading Nazi. He was one of the monsters who directed the Holocaust.

He deceived a lot of people after the war into thinking that he was just a guy doing his duty. That's a lie that's been disproved so many times.

I can see why CC's own Nazi guy likes him. He got away with it, and even convinced leaders to like him.

Certainly a figure to emulate for ConfederateSS.

That's just a half truth. Manstein argued over Hitler about tactics, because when you have someone with no tactical experience dictating a general on how to do his job, it leads to disaster. Manstein was let go because of that, not because he argued over everything. In fact, Manstein had 0 issues with the holocaust and murdering the Jewish people. He went so far as to request their (Jews) watches from them after they were done being executed just so his men can "earn" them. Sounds like a swell guy, right? You can be a great leader, but a shitty human being. Kind of like...Oh, I don't know...Attila the Hun?

He was tried, and found guilty, but hardly served time for it. There's undeniable proof that he played a major role in those war crimes, and the fact that the west at that time just said "Meh" is a slap in the face to everyone that fought in the war.

So let me get this straight, according to your infallible logic. If you're an amazing general and tactician, you are above the moral high ground, and cannot be judged by anyone unless they are of equal or better standing, right? What have I done? Well, I didn't mass murder innocent people for starters. Somehow, I really doubt those "great" people back then saw and admired him, but saw a tool to be used and exploited. Again, the ethical question of letting him off with an easy pass is baffling to me, but you can go right on ahead and keep supporting a known Nazi figurehead. What have you done exactly, Confederate?
