It's concerning because, at age 82, McConnell is one of the youngest, go-getter members of the Senate.
It makes me worried about all the 90- and 100-somethings. For instance, just three days ago Feinstein's servant almost had a heart attack when the senator forgot which way she'd been told to vote.

She celebrated her fourth birthday the same month the Golden Gate Bridge opened.
Who wore it better?

I recall reading somewheres on here that politicians should be made to retire @ 65, same as everyone else. sounds like an excellent idea, imo.

This.
Having these clowns covet these positions as long as they have is embarrassing.

The new desk job retirement age should be 70 or 72.
Yes, our politicians are mostly too old. Mandatory retirement for them and judges at 72 or 75 should be instituted. Trump is only 3 years younger than Biden at 77 and is in worse health, he has needed diapers since his TV show days. Although, I do like how Biden confuses Republicans as they say he is too old and senile at 80, and then they say he is a master criminal, and he has outfoxed us again in negotiations.

Update on the 96 year old leader of the Senate Democrats. Once again, her servants had to intervene:
Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) had what appeared to be a moment of confusion Thursday as she began delivering a speech instead of voting during a Senate Appropriations Committee hearing.
“I would like to support a yes vote on this, it provides $823 billion. That’s an increase of $26 billion for the Department of Defense and it funds priorities submitted…” Feinstein said as a staffer cut her off and told her, “Just say ‘Aye.’”
BTW no GOP member of Congress would ever tolerate one of their servants ordering them how to vote like Feinstein. They're not even allowed a second bowl of gruel -
Rep. Derrick Van Orden (R-Wis.) cursed out a group pages in the Capitol rotunda early Thursday morning.
The pages are 16- and 17-year-olds who assist Senate operations, and when the Senate works late — as it did Wednesday night on National Defense Authorization Act amendments — pages generally rest nearby in the rotunda.
“Wake the f‑‑‑ up you little s‑‑‑‑. … What the f‑‑‑ are you all doing? Get the f‑‑‑ out of here.” Van Orden said.
“Who the f‑‑‑ are you?” Van Orden asked, to which one person said they were Senate pages. “I don’t give a f‑‑‑ who you are, get out.”

Technically the US people have coveted having them in these positions, given the US is a democracy where the government is elected by the choice of its citizens.
You might think they are clowns but you are in a minority. The US people love them.
MAGA supporters drowned out McConnell -- who supports the Ukrainian Nazis -- today while he was speaking at the 143rd St Jerome Church Picnic in Fancy Farm, Kentucky, chanting "RETIRE."
Chants begin at 1:37 --
It's believed this is the first time in 42 years in the Senate that McConnell has been gang-heckled and he appeared shaken.

CSS has a point. Mitch needs to wait until our boy Daniel Cameron is safely enthroned as the new Governor of Kentucky before he retires.
We want a young, Black Republican appointing Mitch's replacement - not an old, white Rat.
GO DAN-CAM!

How old was the Queen when she died?
The average age of the US Senate is around 65yo.
The average age of the UK House of Lords is 71yo.
GFY.

Another good example. The House of Lords is full of unelected lifetime peers, unlike the US Senate which is chosen according to the collective will of the American people.

LOL!
2019 — Trump "officially" starts his workday at around 11 a.m. It might consist of a dumbed-down intelligence briefing or a 30-minute meeting with his political aides. He always has his morning diaper aide with him in the morning.
Trump does more by 9:30am then most people do all day...The guy never sits down... Energy, nothing but pure energy...
BS, nothing but pure BS.

Senator McConnell's operating system froze again today. One of Senator McConnell's servants called chief technician Eddie who came out and pressed his reset switch and then he was fine. No big deal. That's why we pay people like Eddie.

So who's going to be the first US politician to soil themselves in public?

I would fully support a law that stated a politician may not be elected to a position if his term of office for that position extends beyond 10 years after the Social Security Retirement age for the candidate.

Suddenly Democrats pivot towards voting to increase retirement age to 80 and save social security... This could work!!!

Actually, it's the Republicans who want to raise the age to qualify for Social Security benefits or privatize it, so our Wall Street buddies can enrich themselves.
