Seems like an eternity ago.
I was still a little kid when Kissinger was at his peak. It seemed wherever there was trouble, between North and South Vietnam, between India and Pakistan, between the Jews and the Arabs, Kissinger was there to put out the fire. He was sort of like Gandalf to me, the wizard who had his hand in every pie.
Later on, when my worldview started getting more multi-dimensional, I found out that he wasn't always just putting out fires. In some cases he was helping to start them. Kind of sad when your childhood heroes turn out to have clay feet.
