Wow, my cats are terrified of the vacuum. Once, the balcony door was open while I was vacuuming. I finished, put away the vacuum, realized Eleanor was nowhere to be found. She had jumped to the neighbors' balcony, a good four feet away, apparently over the bars of the two balconies, since she's too fat to fit through them. I was in a panic. I ran, nearly crying, to get the superintendent who let me into the neighbors'. She was barred from the balcony for months after that. Now I just make sure the door's closed before I vacuum.

so was my older cat Tigi, she ran like hell when she heard the sound of it. but simba was never scared. once i was vacuuming the room while he was lying on the carpet and refused to move. so i vacuumed him a bit,thought that would scare him and he would move instead he started purring and snuggling against the pipe of vacuum-cleaner. crazy cat he was.
