This is an issue I got into trouble over in the early days, when I thought we would be closing down, with Admin/BigWham help games that had gone on too long unfilled. Like if there were 5 games of St. Patricks Day or Doodle Earth set up a year ago and 5 players needed to get any one of them started, close em.
A suggestion to consider, try to fill up OR shut down all games creadted before our 18 millionth game To be precise created before

Our 18 million one thousand and 23rd game

by PM ing mates in the games who might want either, with your help, to fill the games and get them finally started- or close them.
It may seem a litle harsh, but it puzlles me how people could set up a game and let it go unfilled for months, over a year and then worry about it being shut down,
Having 18 Million Games filled/closed would be a consumation devoutly to be wished for. and a milestone for PR/marketing purposes.

Then to get a little harsh, you could set targets to reach on a regular basis, say once a month, look at the hundred oldest games- invite people in the game to, with your help fill or close them, Maybe with admin authority yuo can give them a month to do the deed, fill them or you cose them

The down side might be reducing the choices people have through Game Finder, say I was looking for
a Fractured America game, might be willing to go a year back to find one to join, IF I could be reasonably certain it would be filled relatively soon, within a month.
But if the game has been lingering there for over a year, with more than one slot to fill, how likely someone esle will come along in the next month, find this treat waiting and join in?

A quick search of his games found 91 waiting games, many where he is the only player, some older than 18 months (created June 2017), and many older than 6 months. I've posted on his wall requesting he drops his old games where the game is practically empty atm.
Does anyone who is active in keeping up this thread up to date reach out to repeat offenders to help keep all games fresh? Is there a general guideline you recommend when reaching out to such offenders?

I have been tempted to reach out to players who are the only ones in an old game waiting to be filled, but have not. It just seems like it is taking the easy way out to filling old, waiting games. In some instances, the only player listed in a waiting game is not even the person who originally created the game - the original creator dropped the game, or left the site, waiting for it to be filled!
My general guidelines to suggest to you when approaching people who are the only ones listed in a waiting game would be:
1) be friendly
2) suggest that they invite people to their waiting games to get them filled
3) ask why they hold on to games that are not filling
4) join their waiting games, and invite some friends!
Let me know how it works out ... and sign-up for some games in the opening post!
