Regardless of your residency or views, it will have been impossible to escape ‘Brexit’ over the last 4 years. It has driven us Brits well and truly crazy. Now, I love to travel, and I love different cultures, so in a nod to our European friends, I wanted to pay tribute to a lot of wonderful nations by organising my first tournament on CC as I approach my 10 year anniversary!
I require 16 players to partake in a 1 v 1 battle to conquer Europe. It will follow thus (subject to a few possible tweaks before we start):
There are 27 remaining nations within the EU. I didn’t want the maps to involve too much advanced gameplay and also be as current as possible, so with a sincere apology to Poland, I think I’ve just about covered all 27. Therefore, on a round robin basis, 16 players will play a match against each other player on 1 of 15 European maps.
Portugal, Spain, Czech Slovak, France, Benelux, Germany, Italy, Kingdom of Denmark, Ireland, Malta, Cyprus, Baltic States, Austro Hungarian Empire, Balkan Peninsula, Nordic Countries.
Round 1 will be on Portugal, Round 2 will be on Spain etc
Scoring & Format
Win 2-0 = 3 points
Draw 1-1 = 1 point
Lose 0-2 = 0 points
After 15 rounds, this will result in the top 4 going into semi finals, 1st v 4th , 2nd v 3rd. Semis will be best of 7 games split over Europe (4), Europe 1914 (3). Finalists will play off best of 7 on the Europa Map (5) and one map from the original 15 European maps which each finalist will choose. Unlike the whole Brexit debacle, by the end of the tournament, we should have a winner.
The group stage will hopefully be cut and dried regarding finishing position. But in the event points for matches doesnt split players, the following will apply
in the event of a 2 player tie, the match played together will hopefully split it. If that was a draw, or multiple teams then...
number of wins
countback of points last 3 games, 6 games, 9 games, 12 games
If this cannot split, then a one off game will split, played on the czecko slovak map.
All settings will be the same throughout
Auto/Seq
No Spoils
Chained
Fog**
No trench
20 ROUND LIMIT
**Please allow 12 hours for map to be seen, or post what could have been seen if you have to play earlier than that. But I wont remake games on this basis. Please sort it yourself or get on with it.
Game Load
Group Stage - 15 matches, 30 games in total. 3 maps at a time, so 6 games. Every 10 days or so.
Knockout Stages – 7 games at once
In total, the winner will have played 44 games, which, according to the UN, just happens to be the number of official European Countries (and you won’t believe how hard it was to work that into it!).
I will take 2 reserves in case of a dead beat. In this case, that round’s games will be remade with the reserve and then the original player will be thrown out. If it is after Round 1, they will pick up the campaign of the drop out.
Please remember, It’s my first go at this, so anything else I’ve missed will be dealt with as it arrives.
I will now LEAVE you to sign up, but if there are any questions, I REMAIN at your disposal….
