I've sent 2 sets of invites for b00060 and walled him, which were all ignored, I guess he don't want to play, so I'm going to post in reserve thread for his replacement. So there is one open spot still available.

ok, i got round 1 kicked off.

a few notes,

1) i messed up the south game description. it says north vs south. but those are the division games.
2) everybody made at least 1 group, so congrats.
3) some of you made several groups. which means your game count is going to rise for about 4 weeks or so. but most of those games finished pretty quickly. some of the slower players may notice a pretty good buildup of games. especially if you made several of the brackets.

if yall want, to help with game counts, i'll send the rounds every 2 weeks, currently, there is 4 rounds, and that means the first round should end by about middle of october. if we go every other week, that will push us proabaly to the holidays.

if theres more that want it extended, than not. i'll do it. personally i prefer to stay on the 4 week schedule, but i can understand some that made 3 or 4 of the groups easily getting overwhelmed if the games drag.

i updated the scoreboard for the first time.

i was going to send off another round of games, but i think i'll wait a few days. maybe wedsnday or so i'll take another look, i'd like to see at least 50% of the round 1 games finished before sending another load, right now we're only at 18%.

so, we're now at 34% of games complete, that's what i'll do, when we get over 50% i'll start the next set of games.

also, i updated the scores if anyone cares

i updated the scores, and sent round 2 out. so, i think that'll be how i do it, when we get over 50% complete on this round, i'll send round 3.

centouri just forfieted the tourney due to game count.

so, i will count everyones games against him as a win. that will be reflected next time i update the scores.

he was the only one to win all four of his first games, so he was getting bombarded with 20 games a round. i guess i understand.

to be honest, this sounded like a good idea, but i doubt i'll do another like this, tabulating scores is like climbing Everest.

Do all of centuori's games count as a win for the other player, including active and finished games?

yes, even if you lost a game in round 1 against him, it's now a win. it wouldn't be fair to those that don't have to play him if they get wins without a game.

i just am going to redo scores, but that will be another day.

i sent the next round of invites. i also sent 2 makeup games from round 2 i missed. they slipped through the cracks when centouri backed out.

also, after about 1.5 hours i calculated the w/l for everyone. this one is a bear to tabulate because of all the cross matches going on. i finally found a "fairly" effective way to do it, but after doing everyone, i still came up with a 1 game discrepancy.
i'm not going to look for it until i go to update it again. as it sits now, it's more or less correct, just that one game somewhere i missed.

postimage is down currently, so i'm unable to post the scoreboard. i will put it up when i can.

also, due to centouri backing out, instead of counting everyone as a win, i'm just going to disregard those games alltogther. it will be easier to score like that. it's the same difference so no biggie.

this tournament has been a disaster, looks like we've lost another 2 players,

i'm still going to push through tho'. the problem that is going to come from this is some players will not get the same amount of games, since it will be minimal, i'm just going to let it play out and see what happens. if it comes down to a point where the decision came down to a game or two whether a player makes it to the finals or not, i'll figure something out at that point, but the higher chance will be that it doesn't happen so i'm not going to try and piece together matchups that should have taken place considering the new information. i think the best thing to do at that point is just have a 3 game shootout between the affected players. if you've played against alt1978, centouri, or igrocksprock, those games will just disappear.

i thought this was a nifty idea of a tournament, but it turned out to be a logistical nightmare.

It's a nice idea. It's a lot of games all at once, though.

OK, i received a message from alt and he has returned. So I resent his invites. There is only one round left after this, so I think we're gonna make it.

there are currently still 25 games active, i was going to start the final round tonight, but i got in a little later than i'd like. so i'll kick it off tomorrow when i get home from work. i'll also take another stab at updating the scorecard.

ok, i got the final round games created, and invites sent. i'm going to have to put off the scoreboard til tommorrow. that's like a 2-3 hour project, and it's already too late to get it started,

the good news is, this is the last large load of games to go out. everything past this will just be a bracket style playoff. ](*,)

ok, i updated the scoreboard,

just to let you know if you're just now tuning in, this is a very complicated mess i've created, so by all means, check your score if you like. it just took me 2 hours to do all these. i feel like it's 99% accurate, but everytime i complete it, i come up with a one game discrepancy somewhere.

just remember, if you have a game against centouri, or igrocksprock, it will not be counted. also, there are several cross group games with same players in each group, which is the most complicated part of it all.

let me know if you find something, so i can zero in on it, the problem i'm having is, the only way for me to know if it all ties in is to do it all. and then to find a problem, i have to start all over and do it again. which is like 2 hours for each process. but if you do your own, and find an issue, i can zero in on your specific score.

i will at the end go over the top 4 spots with a fine tooth comb, we still have gobs of games yet to play, so this is just something to help you understand where you are at at this stage.
