Clans + Community Tournament - FULL, Accepting

What: Randomly Assigned Team Tournament but Actually Player v Player

This is an excellent opportunity if you're someone who is interested in clans, enjoys team games, has previously been in a clan or is currently looking for a clan. Even if you aren't, come play, meet some people and who knows? You may find that competitive team play is a blast. Participating clans are all looking for new players and you'll get a chance to play with all of them so if there's a fit, this is a great spot to find it.

Number of players: 16 players who are currently unaffiliated with a clan
Rounds: 4

Round 1-3: Round Robin
Players are randomly placed into four divisions with four players in each for the first two rounds. They are then split into two, 8 player divisions for round 3. They are divided up by seed.
Round 4: Championship Matchup

Round 1 - Three games are played in a single set
- 3 games per player
- Each game is: Team Triples, Classic Map, No Spoils, Fog, Chained
- Each player is randomly assigned to a clan
- Each clan assigns players to play Round 1 games
- Each "team" plays 3 games, 1 vs each player in their division

Round 2 - Six games are played by each player in two sets
- 6 games per player
- Each player is randomly assigned to a clan for each opponent
- Two games vs each player in division
- One home map and settings are chosen by each player for a home matchup - so you will submit a map/settings prior to this round and you'll have 3 games on that map/settings and 3 games on your opponent's map settings for a total of 4 different maps/settings

Round 3 - Seven games are played per player in two sets
- One matchup vs each player, total of 7 games per player

Round 3 Maps/Settings - You will play one game on each of these maps/settings - These are all popular maps and settings from Clan League 12 Premier Division

Third Crusade - Team Triples, No Spoils, Fog, Trench, Chained
Feudal Epic - Team Quads, Escalating, Fog, Parachute
Pot Mosbi - Team Quads, No Spoils, Fog, Chained
Baltic Crusades - Team Trips, No Spoils, Fog, Trench, Chained
KC2 - Team Doubles, No Spoils, Fog, Trench, Chained
Spanish Armada - Team Triples, No Spoils, Fog, Chained
USA 2.1 - Team Quads, No Spoils, Fog, Trench, Chained

Round 4 - Five games played in two sets
- Finals - Players with the 2 best winning % from first three rounds combined
- Players choose the clan they want to play with, #1 seed chooses first
- Each player chooses two maps and settings, fifth game is Classic, Fog, No Spoils, Chained

Winning Player: 600 credits and tournament medal
Winning Clan (Clan with the best win % overall):
- Bronze Plaque
- Each participating player who plays 2 or more games for the winning clan receives 100 credits and a clan achievement medal

Rules - There Aren't Many So Play Within Them

- Trench games have standard round limits - 20 quads/30 trips/50 dubs
- Clans can use as many players as they want, they can choose to assign players per game or the tournament director can simply assign from a list of players provided by the clan
- Tiebreaker for round robin will be head to head matchups first, then number of total rounds played in wins for the first two rounds combined, lowest total advances
- Disputes brought to the TD will result in expulsion of the tournament from all players involved so resolve them yourself like adults or simply play within the rules
- There is a 12 hour rule but it works exactly like this: If you are the second team to join and you start the game, you must either wait 12 hours to play your turn or wait for the other team to state that they have snapped. If you are the second team to join and you do not start, get your snap when you join. The other team has no obligation to wait for you.

this has admittedly not drawn the interest that i anticipated. 16 players did not seem like much.

i shall continue to send out PMs. maybe i need to go to josko-level wall spamming...

I can maybe shed some light as to why this may be

I fluctuate between wanting to join a clan or not, but looking at this format it is undecipherable unless you are familiar with clan play. You use a lot of terms as shorthand that casual players just don't get, I don't know who will decide which game I can play or not, what's the difference between a clan, league, team or division?

I'm interested but it seems too confusing to bother

I tried to explain better what was happening there. if you are even a bit interested in clans, i think you should jump in here. it at least gives you a chance to play with multiple clans and play in some game formats that are common for clan games.

It's three rounds of a round robin, players with the best win % go into the championship round.

You play Classic map round 1, you play 1 map/settings of your choice and the map your opponent chose in round 2. round 3 you play one game on each map/settings listed.

championship you play 2 maps/settings of your choice, 2 of your opponents choice and one on classic map.

Here you describe a 1v1 tournament but the first post talks about triples and teams and a clan deciding who plays, so now I'm even more confused, is it 1v1 in a clan format, try-outs for a clan or a randomly assigned team tournament?

Sorry, I'm not sure how else to explain it other than this. I'm not sure where I say it's a 1 v 1 tournament.

Round 1 - Three games are played in a single set
- 3 games per player - You will play three games
- Each game is: Team Triples, Classic Map, No Spoils, Fog, Chained - You will play Team Triples on this map and settings
- Each player is randomly assigned to a clan - You are randomly assigned to a clan that you will play the team game with
- Each clan assigns players to play Round 1 games - Each clan will assign players to play with you
- Each "team" plays 3 games, 1 vs each player in their division - You will play one game vs each player/clan "team"

So we will be playing in a team with clan members that aren't taking part in the tournament?

Yes. There are technically two concurrent competitions happening here.

Players sign up and play for themselves - every game will be with a different set of teammates from various clans but your standings and record is yours alone. All you have to do is submit the occasional map and settings, otherwise you'll be assigned teammates to play each game. There should be at least 8 clans involved so you'll have the chance to play with a good number of different players. And since you all play with all the clans in a rotation, there is no advantage.

Clans then have their own competition that they are involved in.

I can promise you that this is going to be super simple from the players perspective, I'm doing all the work with the exception of you giving me your map and settings choices in round 2. You'll have no more than 5 games at a time and that's if you make the final round.

An event/tournament like this that could lead to a healthier/broader clan community and should 100% have a banner/ad for it on the home page.

I would bet your most loyal, longstanding and interactive members on this site are active in the clan scene. Retaining members is such a powerful tool, and I wish the broader group of CC players would come into contact with it so they could see if it would be enjoyable to them.
