- 10 countries for 4 players, 2 neutral
- 08 countries for 5 players, 2 neutral
- 07 countries for 6 players, 0 neutral

All feedback, suggestions and critisism are welcome.
Such as the army bonuses right, the (attack/defense)positions of the countries, gameplay and more.

Robust Map!

I would sugest:

- Luxemburg having 3 countries and only 1 border. Only +1 bonus;
- Belgisch Brabant should have only +2 bonus;
- West-Nederlan should have +6 bonus;
- Devide zuid- en Oost-Nederland into two continents, 5 countries each.

OR

4 Oost-Nederland. +2 bonus
6 Zuid-Nederland. +4 bonus
add non-crossing border for Belgisch Limburg/Zuid Limburg and Liege/Zuid Limburg

Congratulations... So far, soo Good!

I really, really like your map. It looks very good. Well done. Might I suggest making a kind of extra bonus for occupying the cities of Amsterdam, Bruxelles and Luxembourg City? Whoever has the three cities could get a +2 army bonus per turn for example.

You should devide zuid- en Oost-Nederland into two continents, 5 countries each.

eum look to other maps, they all have 2 bonus ;)
and if he would spilt zuid- en oost-Nederland in two then oost will be with 4 countrys and zuid with 6 because of this:
oost means east (and east netherland has only 4 countrys) and zuid means south, and has 6 country's

and i like the idea of Ruben Cassar ;)

Maybe a little late, cause i saw the map in 'de veroveraars club' as well. But why don't you take 'de Maas' as another natural border? You can put a couple of bridges on, but now to much countries can invade each other, you would split, for example, belgisch and zuid limburg.

MAPS??? what maps? We don't have maps with continet of 3 countries and only 1 border! That a easy way(luck factor) to start a game, should only have 1 bonus.

This map have huge continets and very tiny continets... If he split in 4 and 6 would improve alot

I personaly don't like the Ideia of Extra Bonus... We allready have Cards and Regular Bonus. Extra Bonus add more luck factor.

Looks okay to me, but the first thing I noticed was I can't read the black text on the blue territories.

True, I think white text would be more appropriate...

seems like a 3 bonus for belgisch brabant is too high. probably 2 would work. i know it has 6(?) borders but if you start with both or one and two near it, you could easily just pile them up and receive the same bonus as holding africa

Everybody thanks for all the feedback, suggestions and critisism.

- I will change the color of the names in the blue continent into white.
- Belgisch Brabant get 2 armies instead of 3.

Should I remove the mountains from Luxembourg?
So it can be attacked by 3 countries and defenced by 2 countries.

Let me know..

No, the map already have many borders, this map need more non-crossing border, do not think about removing non-crossing borders.
Luxemburg should only get +1 bonus. Luxemburg is the best place to start a game for 5 or 6 players.

What is the problem of Luxemburg have only +1 bonus???

Get only rid of the Southern mountains in LUX, then it can be attacked from 2 and has to defned 2 which is better suited for +2 continent.

I didnt read all. But you need correct many things if you want make this a map.

1st, the image is too small. The numbers will never fit well in those tiny circles.
2nd, as mentioned, you need change some colours. Its easier have a dark map with light names, or vice-versa.

3rd, for what names like "Zuidhollandse Eilanden" to a small territory? That are looks crowded, and a name that long would make the drop list (where you choose your target) very big. Its unnecessary. You can rename countries with names like this.

4th, would be needed rethink some continents. Look at Vlaanderen, what a wasted area: 5 countries, 5 borders, and they arent all connected. We all know some realism is very good, but playability is much more important. And the country dispersion is something crazy: 2, 3, 5, 5, 8, 9, 10 >> no medium continents. I like at least one big area, but I think we could remove one of those tiny, and take some other countries to produce a medium continent.

5th, maybe you can join some islands. Beyond the white area, where they are crowded, Waddengebied is very strange as it is. Name in one island, circle in another one, and a route in another one. Think aout a way to make it clearer.

6th: flags: Holland and Luxembourg are so alike that its looking very bad, I think. How about use other national symbols? Or at least put Belgium one in center?

3rd i don't think he can rename it, that are the names of it. the only thing he can do about it is take them all in one country and call it zeeland

4th i agree that vlaanderen needs a bridge or something

6th, yeah i think he can use this one for the netherlands: http://webshop.faberpro-motion.net/inco ... -leeuw.jpg
its not the orginal flag but its used with tournements with football etc.

Answers of the suggestions of Marvaddin:

1st, the image is not too small. Tthe circles are tested in the XML Reader of the Conquer Club. And the circles will fit in the countries.

2nd, I will change the color of the names in the blue continent into white.

3rd, Look at he map Montreal. Some countries have also long names. Also you're map Brazil have some countries with long names, also map Space, etc.

4th, The're is an option to devide continent Zuid- en Oost-Nederland into continent Zuid-Nederland (6 countries) and continent Oost-Nederland (4 countries).

5th: Waddengebied is the country name of all 7 islands. It looks strange, but those islands have one circle. Is there someone who have an idea to make it clearer?

6th: That are the flags of Holland and Luxembourg. Belgium in the center is an option.

You could use that one for Luxembourg:

That's the one for the grand duchy.

Any feedback on this suggestion?

Also I don't know what all the fuss about the flags is about. Those are the original flags and that's what should be used. The flags don't affect gameplay or anything so leave them like they are in real life.

Marval If you have in mind to change the map, do it on this way:

1 - Add overijssel (Salland + twenthe) to Noord Nederland
2 - Get rid of the strange deviding of Drenthe
3 - And the waddeneilanden are what they are, a part of the two nothern countries of Noord-nederland, and no longer a separate country.

If you do it this way you have 5 countries in Noord-nederland and 8 in Zuid-oost-nederland.

And the islands of Zeeland must be one country, the same as on the real map of Holland, accept of the nothern island which belongs to country Zuid-Holland. Texel which actually belongs to Noord-holland will in this case be a separate country. So this continent then has 6 countries

Deviding Zuid-oost-nederland in 2 continents of 5 countries isn't a good idea because then you have 3 continents in row with 5 countries.

The extra bonus for holding the Amsterdam and Brussel is a good idea, but then we have to get rid of Brabant.

If you do it on this way then there are six contionents left, as on the classic world-map.

UPDATE 01

Postby MarVal on Sun Dec 24, 2006 2:10 pm

UPDATE 01

Below the latest development of the map BeNeLux. Look at the first topic to view the map BeNeLux. The most of the suggestions that were mentioned:

- Luxembourg only 1 extra armies instead of 2.
- Belgisch Brabant only 2 extra armies instead of 3.
- West-Nederland 6 extra armies instead of 5.
- Occupying the cities of Amsterdam, Bruxelles and Luxembourg (Stad) 1 extra army.
- White text on Zuid- en Oost-Nederland.
- River between Veluwe / Achterhoek and Betuwe.
- Waddengebied looks now as 1 continent.
- Combine Noord-Limburg and Zuid-Limburg into Limburg.
- Combine Noord-Drenthe and Zuid-Drenthe into Drenthe.
- Extra country for continent Vlaanderen, named Brugse Ommeland
- Extra country for continent La Wallonie, named Mons.

So let us know what U think about the map BeNeLux so far.
