Just saw this CD...evidently the MLS believes as you do and has gone with a two-leg aggregate format for the Conference finals for 2012. :)

I'm all for earning homefield advantage...that's what the regular season is for. What I don't get is the aggregate scoring format in the quarterfinals...that makes my head spin.

Right, fair enough. I'll just make sure we end up first next year then :)

In an update...the New York Red Bulls have clinched the penalty kick shootout win over Philadelphia and advanced to face #1 Kansas City in the other semifinal match. Good luck to both sides.

Kansas City has clinched at least a 1-0 win over New York in the Eastern semis, giving us the anticipate MLS Cup matchup between Kansas City and FC Dallas — the two clubs that dominated the regular season.

Good luck to each side.

Updated with FC Dallas gaining a big edge in the midfield with Kansas City trying to counter with its forward and defensemen.

Not official yet, but looks like we're closing in on a 1-1 tie in the MLS final and moving toward a penalty kick shootout.

Classic, escalating, chained, foggy for all nine of the 1 vs. 1 shootout maps.

Why are the forwards minus 8? I don't remember anything about attackers being minus when this tourney started. I thought it was just earn positive or not. Did something change? I thought we won this and now I suddenly see a minus 8.

Yes, that's how it's worked all season.
If the defense wins big they are allowed to use that dominance to counter against the midfield attack, too.

• Scoring…
Players will get rated on their performance from 0 to 3
Win in 7 rounds or fewer…3
Win in 8-12 rounds…2
Win in 13+ rounds…1
Lose the game…0

Goalie: Winning teams gets +1 for their goalie; Losing team is set to -1. Losing team will be set to 0 if they are able to eliminate at least one opposing player.

Okay - I assumed that defenders were not eligible to score points and that they were there to simply stop attackers from scoring points. I see how it works now though.

funny thing is viper...I think it confused you because your team hasn't had to deal with it much because you've been blowing people out all year :)

General Achievement Medals have been awarded to Kansas City, reptile, dcc1220 and fairman, for winning the "Supporters Shield": the team with the most points during the regular season.
