Fantastic job! I love seeing the matches and the individual matches separately as they are completed. Very smart way to do it. And you seem to have it updating in real time or close to it! I was privy to some of the technical mechanics of the previous Super League. That technology would have been too painful to implement. But you seem to have a well-connected infrastructure to provide that capability. Very nice!

Also, kudos for overcoming the obstacles to piecing together the results from SL25.

An idea:
Can you show what used to be called the "Usain Bolt" standings to show which leagues are completing their games/matches at the fastest clip? This encourages players to get to playing!

Again, very impressed with your solution here.

Thank you, appreciated. Both you and Ewebasher have been extremely helpful, a real credit to the old team.

As you may see from the new Hall of Fame Tab, I am attempting to reduce the number of tabs in favour of presenting data at a glance.

The Usain bolt chart is a relative comparison between leagues and I don't yet have a tab for that - the Scoreboard is currently displayed as a collection of leagues in one tab.
I could do a progress bar per league but I think that doesn't work on the scoreboard because you would have to scroll up and down.

Let me have a think about this, it's a good suggestion and not difficult to actually implement it's just how to present it.

Open to ideas and suggestions.

Is the data on the Scoreboard tab live/real-time? Or is it a timed job?
Would it make sense for the date stamp on the Scoreboard tab to include a timestamp as well?

I decided against that for a number of good reasons, but all of your suggestions are great, keep them coming.

New feature : Flexible Game Day

I want to see how people feel about this first:

We can be flexible on when we send you invites to a point - we don't want the tournament to slow down but do feel we can offer the following flexibility

  • Late Game Day - this has already happened this week where one player was not able to accept invites on Game Day (Monday) so requested Wednesday instead.
I have described this as an injury timeout but will rename it because of the second point below. This affects other players and slows the tournament down so only want to allow this for emergencies.
Players not alerting in advance that they will miss invites are at risk of being kicked.
  • Early Game Day
This is for players who have finished all their games only. They can look at the scoreboard grid to see the schedule for next week's matches and agree with their next opponent to start early.
If both players have completed all games and both post in the CCSL26 thread that they want to start their match early, we can send their games asap.

@chipv, there is maybe something wrong with the scoreboard, i find I’m playing week 4 opponents, instead of week 1, I’m sure it was week 1 the start day. Will this be with player moving up and down on the “U” column?
Main reason I’m asking, if we are going to have the opportunity to start early match, it would make it tough to know who I’m playing as the week match are not send in order.

Nice and quick fix!

I’ve been there playing with spreadsheet along my TD/Mods career, always something to do

Awesome job by the team! Long live to the CC SL!

Just speaking for myself, not opposed but to be honest, keeping a solid schedule would be better than starting to engage multiple week altogether.

Yes you are right, it is introducing a bit more work to manage.

Thanks, let's leave that, we're on a weekly cadence so hardly a long wait.

I should have added, let’s get that season rolling on schedule, then next season, additional work can be assessed, but we don’t need organizer to burn out instead
…but ultimately TO team can decide whatever they want and which best work.

Maybe getting more players next season so that would add more work if it happens…

Absolutely loving that this is back. Great work everyone, old team & new!

Early/Late Days: Personally i quite like the idea of sticking to the weekly monday scheduled games, but I certainly wouldn't oppose something that improved the experience for other players.

Nice work Team getting this back up and running

Sorry to hear of these recent player drops - we can only hope that the ones affected are just distracted in RL and not worse

Question: For the leagues involved, does it create another space for someone to move up next round?

Great question, thanks, there are 3 cases here:

  • Voluntary withdrawal one season via PM or season thread - all matches this season void, players will keep their spot in the league, no space created.
  • Missed invites, no response to PMs - all matches this season void, this is likely to create a space for next season, depends if we get a response, want to allow people the right of reply.
  • Inactive players for 30 days , unable to receive game invites, no response to PMs - this is most likely to create a space for next season, depends if we get a response, want to allow people the right of reply.

Can we get Conquer Man on the banned map? While my opponent was super quick taking turns, it only take 72hrs to finish it almost 20 rounds. Should player be facing one taking one turn a day, this game would take half of the season to complete.

It is banned already. You got it from a Random map. I originally had it so I removed the possibility of banned maps and generated the random maps myself but people wanted the full random experience.

I am collecting stats on this to see how often long maps are selected so will review banned maps every season.

Ok must have missed that…lol

Not sure I understand players wanting some home map banned due to the size/complexity, but still ok under random. This is outside of any logics as the main goal was to get the week matches moving on.

EDIT: I’m fine by the way, just questioning myself out loud

Without trying to put myself inside Craigs head (why would anyone do that, lol), I bet it would make the tournament way harder to run if random was just random from the not banned maps.
Its also different to have a "slow" map 1x time from random instead of like 20 homegames.

And I realize I'm not doing myself any favors, since I want there to be no banned maps at all, since my lovely feudal epic is on there, lol.

Yea, I was only questioning the reasoning from home map and random, but fully agree about the TO additional work, like I said by editing my post, I’m fine, was just curious. I have no problem playing any map though.

There is a Banned Maps tab on the scoreboard sheet. Banned maps are for the TO's benefit to keep the tournament moving. Having a truly random map was a player request.

I am monitoring this and will adjust next season if needed.

It isn't that difficult in practice (I already had this working before players requested full random) and yes it would help the tournament go faster but I like the idea of fully random and am monitoring what happens this season.

It is not that often that a banned map gets selected - if you look at the Banned Maps tab on the scoreboard sheet there are 32 banned maps out of a total of 214 non-beta non-event maps.

I have just added a suggestion from Esquire (thanks) to freeze the player column on the scoreboard when scrolling right.
