Welcome to the 2013 NFL season tournament...standings and scoreboard will be updated here throughout the week all season long. Division winners advance to the playoffs along with two wildcard teams from each conference (same as the procedure in the real NFL).

This is a 1 vs. 1 singles tournament that will follow the NFL football season. 32 players…one for each of the 32 NFL teams. Tournament is open to freebies and premium players, I just ask that freebies keep pace with play…several maps each week.
I’ve invited the 12 playoff qualifiers from last year with a chance to return as their teams.
GAME PLAY
All games are SEQUENTIAL…other than that all settings are accepted…and all maps are in play.
• The “Special Teams” showdown will be played on a different predetermined map for each week of the season…settings will be escalating, chained, foggy for those matches.
Maps for each week are listed at the end of this post.
SCORING
A scoring formula (see below) will reward players for quick victories. Each game will be broken into four quarters (four maps) along with a special teams battle.
That makes five total maps to decide each “game”, however total points will be used to determine the official winner — it will be possible for a team to win just 2 of the 5 maps and still come out in front. Although I would expect winning 3 of 5 maps would most often land you a victory.
• In the case of overtime...each team will face off on the special teams map. A win in 15 rounds or less gives you the winning points…if the overtime map goes 16+ rounds then that game will end in a tie. (ties not allowed in playoffs, of course).
(Win in 7 or less rounds for a winning TD…win in 8-15 rounds to get a winning FG)
SEASON
The season will follow the NFL schedule with a new game each week…16 games in the regular season…every team has a bye week at some point. The playoffs also follow the NFL format with the top six NFC teams and the top six AFC teams going to the postseason.
The winner of the Super Bowl will be declared the winning team for this tournament.
Scoring Example:
DENVER 14 7 0 9 — 30
KANSAS CITY 3 3 6 7 — 19
1st quarter
• Denver wins in 6 rounds
2nd quarter
• Denver wins in 13 rounds
3rd quarter
• Kansas City wins in 11 rounds
4th quarter
• Kansas City wins in 17 rounds
• Denver FG
*Denver wins special teams map in 13 rounds, so gets 1 FG (credited in the 4th Q).
