b00060's - a tournament to give back...[HighlanderAttack]

Postby b00060 on Sat Apr 11, 2009 9:58 pm

<NS EDIT>
Winner: HighlanderAttack
</NS EDIT>

Okay, in order to be eligible for this tournament, you have to have organized one of your own. This is my way of saying thanks to all the hard work that has probably gone either unnoticed or has come along with a few headaches and very little thanks. So with that said here is the format.

16 Player Bracket Format
(8 first round 1v1 match-ups) Winners Advancing
(4 second round 1v1 match ups) Winners Advancing
(2 semifinal match-ups) Winners Advancing
(Head to Head Final) Champion

Here is how each round will work. Each player will pick their home map and settings (preferably one from a tournament they have run so they can represent, but not required)

Each Round will consist of 6 games (3 Home Games and 3 Away Games all heads up against the same player) Each home win is worth 2 points and each Away win is worth 3. If after the end of the first round there is a tie, each player will play one Classic Shapes Map, Sequential, Escalating, Unlimited and No Fog game to decide who advances.

Nice idea ;)

Two questions:

Are you allowing freestyle?

How is the bracket going to be decided?

Thanks,

Q1 Yes freestyle or sequential are both options as both of them could have been what your tournament was based on and it is your home game, so your settings are entirely up to you.

Q2 I am going to pull the names literally out of a hat. I do not participate in any of my tournaments and have absolutely no vested interest in who wins, so rest assured I run a fair and square operation.
