Re: Selectable Dice Faces - Please!

That's what I meant. Sorry, I'm speaking as someone that would actually design it so from my perspective it's customizable.

But you're right, it's really a skin.

Selectable Dice Faces - Please!

After seeing the april fools heart dice faces I think it would be a great idea to allow the map making community to design dice faces and allow each player to select their own.

The process for approval would be similar to map making except it should probably be easier and only require the graphic ...

Re: Japan - pg 1+4 - tentative bonuses added

I also don't think the graphics are necessarily Feudal Japan - I think you get that feeling from the calligraphy-like font, but really the Japanese do still often write that way.

no, not for me. The calligraphy is pretty modern feeling. it's really the parchment paper in the back. parchment paper ...

Re: Japan - pg 1+4 - tentative bonuses added

I think part of the problem is that part of the art style says Feudal Japan but the way the bonuses are separated feels awfully modern.

Have you ever played the game samurai warriors? That game is a lot of fun because it brings to life (in a completely fantastic way) the characters and the culture ...

Re: Japan - pg 1+3

I think the parchment paper background, especially down the middle, left side of hokkaido needs more of the detail that's present on the far right.

Re: Zodiac Map (IDEA) - (Rough Draft Uploaded)

Ohhh... that's a little disappointing for me. I thought this would be about the awesome Zodiac Warriors anime from ages past.

I think you need to spice it up past a simple astronomy map if it's going to capture imaginations.

Re: Official Brazil REVAMP competition [Round 1]

I didn't get to submit but I think C is on the right visual track. Brazil is a happy place where piecemeal art is part of the local flair.

I think the others don't really capture the spirit of the place as it does. It needs to tone some of the filter work down a bit but it's definitely getting ...

Re: Madagascar- Page 1&29 New Legend Poll [I, Gp, Gr]

no no, i'm not saying more precise... but look near analanjirofo, where the piece of sava hangs down. The effect should probably follow the contour of the island better.

The same with the northern tip of Diana.

i had to sit and think about the addition around the island. If you use it then I think you need to follow the contours of the coast.

Re: Madagascar- Page 1&29 New Legend Poll [I, Gp, Gr]

no... i think what i'm saying is that right now is that it doesn't look intentional. if you don't mind it floating i think you need to experiment how it blends with the surrounding body of water.

it might be the bevel that you're using to texture the land doesn't fit too well with the style of the ...

Re: San Marino [I,Gp,Gr, FF] - map on page 17

Ah i see the other mountains. No they were right they are not right either. I think those look are too defined. I think if you add definition only to the tops of the mountain they will look more like mountains instead of abstract triangles.

Re: San Marino [I,Gp,Gr, FF] - map on page 17

stray white pixels on the edge from San Mustiola to Gaviano.

Mountains fade into the background too much. Maybe a dark outline to define them?

Also, some of the border lines are blending with the terit colors a bit. Do you see that?

Re: Madagascar- Page 1&29 New Legend Poll [I, Gp, Gr]

not a glow. it needs to blend better. i'm not sure what you would do exactly since you've got the bevel on this. i thought you had a drop shadow going on but i think maybe it's the texture of the sea.

also, why does the legend on the large and small differ so much?

the text "impassables"... can ...
