No big reason, but many little ones:

1. I've never been scum before instead of I've never been scum
2. The whole bumped into, got bumped into word play - I don't by that he thinks they are the same thing. I think he got caught in a lie and tried to retcon after the fact

It is conclusive. Day 1 lynches are always better. There should be a rule that a day 1 no-lynch means all town loses their powers for night 1, and so on until they pull their head out of their butt and lynch.
