Google Chrome

Post by InkL0sed »

Will it be CC friendly? Will Greasemonkey and BOB work with it?

I want to use it... but I'll be forced to stick with FF if I can't use Chrome for CC.

I know, I meant to ask if there will ever be a version of Greasemonkey for Chrome...

My Google employed friend (who actually worked on Chrome) told me that there are no plans for Firefox-esque extensions at this point. Its a nice browser so far as I can tell, but I can't switch to it full time without the tweakability that FF gives.

Edit: If you do plan on using Chrome, heres the link to submit bugs.

Chrome and Scripts

Post by PepperJack »

Hey coders of CC! Chrome hates your scripts, its a fact. But one of your programmer type compatriots whipped up something called Greasemetal. I don't know how any of this stuff functions so could you all make a collective effort to let me, and the masses, know which scripts, if any, we can run through Chrome with this? It would be ever so kind of you. Many thanks in advance.

Edit: Normally I would test this myself but I just got my comp back to running full speed and am leery of everything on the internet.

Just FYI: Greasemonkey was developed by Mozilla (the company that made firefox).

Won't work just yet due to...

* no UI for userscript management (yet)
* no support for GM_* functions

But maybe in the future...

Of course - X-browser testing is horrid and crap.

I was using Chrome, and would use it, however it nearly freezes on pages that have big images on them, or lots of them, like photobucket - or even loading a map in the foundry.
Some things need ironing out but if it had GM i would think about using it instead of FF.

I do love FF though.
