He has no idea, so at this point it's just better to pretend he's not in the room.

Knowledge and faith are not the same thing. To pretend they are is yet another symptom of a lack of rational thought processes.

I was under the impression that Faith in God was the only way. Knowing God exist (in an absolute way) would not only be impossible but also counter to faith.

One thing we do know is that you are romantically infatuated with Jay. You roam around here looking for any excuse to engage him with some sort of sick, rhetorical foreplay masked as disagreement. Just send the guy a pm and ask him out already. The worst that could happen is he says no to your flirtations and advances.

Desoxy-ribonucleic acid. Des oxy (also spelled deoxy) means without oxygen, ie. a ribonucleic acid with one oxygen atom removed.

I'm going off the top of my head rather than look up the exact quote. However, it's a well-known reference and even if I'm wrong about it, I'm pretty sure you'll recognize the reference...does the Bible not say that only through faith, not knowledge and not deeds, can you be accepted by God? This tells me that someone cannot possibly KNOW, but can only BELIEVE (with the exception of the insane, of course).

Jay and I both just happen to post a lot, we both have strong opinions, and we disagree with each other almost without exception. That combination means that the two of us will necessarily be in discussion against each other...a lot.

You have a very superficial knowledge of what "faith" is. Don't feel bad - most professing "Christians" do. I didn't really grok on it until i lost mine. Be that as it may, there are plenty of scriptures that speak of "knowing" the truth of God. Sure we could argue absolutes if i wanted to indulge you and certainly the knowing will be more complete when one dies, but as far as knowing the reality of God as well as one knows anything there are like i say plenty of scriptures. Look at the book of I John, first, second and third chapters and see how many times the word "know" is used in strong context if you're really curious.

I really don't like Buddhism, in the slightest. It's just as mythical as the other major religions.

I'd probably go Satanism if I had to.

I'm atheist first of all, but I would choose Buddhism. Buddhists are, from what I have seen, the most content with their lives. Hell, they can even catch themselves on fire and burn to death while not at all flinching for a rightful cause. Talk about self-control and mind over body.

Is that right? First of all, I'm not a Christian, though that's completely irrelevant. Secondly, faith is simply believing something either is or is not true without having proof of it. That IS what faith is. Nothing superficial about it...it just is.

Fast posted there.

Interesting scripture in James says "You believe in God? You do well. The devils also believe, and tremble."

The devils have faith? Why then aren't they "saved"? Like i said, your understanding is superficial.
