Freestyle Tactics
Is there any sort of freestyle tactics that are cheap/unscrupulous? For instance in a speed game, waiting until your opponent is in another game before starting? Objective wins and waiting to start right away?

Re: Freestyle Tactics
Freestyle is just that. If you believe it is cheap because you were hit in a freestyle game while doing your moves for another game then you need to get a life.

I didn't think it was either, but I'm sure there is something out there with freestyle games that is considered abuse, right?

Yeah I consider it abuse when I get left a negative rating for using good tactics.Any tactics that help you win are good.
I didn't vote, because good tactics is not there.

Re: Freestyle Tactics
there are cheap tactics like that example but i guess its not because you don't wait 24 hrs or something. its just 2 min and if you cant focused that long you need to do something about it.

Re: Freestyle Tactics
I feel it is a cheap yet fair tactic. Most are, but hey, people found a way to get a leg up, and they will use it!!! Try to outsmart them, or at least keep up!

Sad but true. A fast internet connection is the key to any speed freestyle win

Thus, if you don't have these items, playing freestyle may not be enjoyable for you.

definitely helps but i cant tell you how many fast players are not good at certain freestyle settings because they lack the skills that are important. Like reaction time, thinking out what is going to happen before it does, and just simple things like knowing your speed.

Waiting for your opponent to play in another game is kinda cheap though i must admit even i do that sometimes to save a game that would have otherwise been lost.
1) I'm not a fan of people waiting till 2:30 is left in a speed game to begin their turn at an important stage so you have to sit there pressing b the entire time.
2) missing a turn in a casual freestyle game so you can go first the next round is really annoying and very cheap if done intentionally in my opinion...especially in say a quads game.
3) In a speed game, joining and then attacking the other player before they come to the game and begin their tun so that you lower their deploy is really cheap imo.
A lot of it is opinion though
Some people think waiting till the end of the round or using clickable maps is cheap though i dont share that belief

Just need to look at the good freestyle players and they are all very fast - thats what makes them good. All of ljexs points are good ones.
The opinion of someone who hardly ever players frestyle coz he doesnt have a fast enough comp

Just remember that there are plenty of very fast freestyle players who are no match for Ljex and the other greats.
It isn't all about speed.

I agree...Thats really annoying. It is a very poor tactic, when they do it over and over and think they will get a different outcome.

if they are in another game or something its fine i do it too but to do it to for no purpose other than to annoy you is needless to say annoying.

Re: Freestyle Tactics
Well it was good to hear all that. The reason I asked is because General Nix always joins my 1v1 speeders and sometimes I wait until he starts his turn in another speeder before taking mine in our game. Mainly when he holds objectives and I take them from him before he comes back. He told me that this is a cheap tactic and that the majority of CC members would agree. Guess not.

Re: Freestyle Tactics
If you can't play Freestyle's tactics and use the turns to your advantage, stay the hell out of Freestyle games. Sequential is there for a reason.

its why you should only play 1-2 fs games at a time...if you play more this tactic is easy to use against you

Re: Freestyle Tactics
I've only started a couple of games using freestyle and I really like it a lot, HOWEVER . . .
I was just taken out in a freestyle game of Holy Roman Empire that I started, so what's my problem? It's not that I lost the game it's that after two of the five players time out and beginning in round #4 the other two remaining players either seemed to actually be one player or they were secretly co-ordinating the start of their turns to make sure that they had both completed their turns before I did, thus making sure that I didn't go first 4 turns in a row. I mean up until round #9 they never were playing at the same time, they each began their turns within seconds or a minute or two of each other and made sure that they both finished before I did even if it meant not doing any reinforcing moves. My only problem with that is that it violates rule #2 and is a piss-poor way to win a game. Just my two cents worth on freestyle gaming.
