Streaker wrote:Can someone explain to me what it means 'to be al lyncher'? Is it a specific role, or is it just trying to get someone lynched? Maybe I've been misinterpreting the whole situation.

Still, imo fuzzy and safari are the most suspicious people around for now.
It's only a matter of getting them to give us more information, have them defend their cases then?

So let me get this straight. You think I'm scummy because I commented on how Fuzzy might be a lyncher because he himself volunteered that information. Now you want me to volunteer information to prove I'm not scum. But the criteria that you built your belief that I am scum is because you thought I was fishing for information. Now you are doing the same thing to me. Shouldn't that make you scum under your own criteria?

However paradoxical this argument may be, I don't like how Justin is just submarining and popping in to vote with no reason. Skimming and submarining make him the most suspicious, noob or not.

This seems to imply lyncher, which would fit with Jeraado's backstory about being responsible for the apocalypse or something.

Woops, forgot to vote:

unvote vote Fuzzy

Doesn't seem right to me that 1 town member is told he hates another town member. At the very least I'm guessing one of them is 3rd party.

Streaker did not say anything about accusing of possibly being scum bc he thought I was a lyncher.I did. Yes its a possibility.Kind of feels like you are trying to get a bandwagon on people without looking scummy.

VOTE SAFARI GUY

Lolled hard when I saw this, he is one of the few guys playing as town. He is aggressively perusing scum and you are all so busy OMGUSing you don't even bother to look at his logic. The tells he is looking at are mostly legit, and while some of them are not worth perusing, they are valuable to be pointed out, D1 scumtells build significant arguments latter on when there are more scumtells accumulated against individual players.

With the whole lyncher bit, I personally believe Fuzzy is a lyncher, that kind of flavor isn't put into a role randomly. I assume his win condition is mutually exclusive to jeraado's. Also, pairs like this are not often on the same side. Take this advice as you will.

Because you´re a noob? Because you felt like claiming? Because you were drunk? I don't care. The fact is, you did reveal your role and it said that you hate someone else according to your role pm. There's only one role that has something to do with hating other people, and that's a lyncher. Unless paranoid sk's count too.

Also if you find your own claim to be "little proof" I guess you have a low self esteem :3

Lastly, Edoc +1.

Actually, his hatred could mean a few things. Jeraldo could be a hated townie. Jeraldo could be scum. Fuzzy could have a secret objective he is not telling us about (non-lyncher related). Etc. There is always various possibilities in mafia. Personally, I think it probably means jeraldo is a hated townie and we should watch to make sure we don't accidently lynch him.

Second, even if we have a proven lyncher, we shouldn't lynch him. If some vig wants to NK him then fine, but we shouldn't waste our lynch on a lyncher. As long as we know the lynch target then it doesn't matter. He can't do anything to hurt us. And (in most setups) he adds to the town numbers so there is no reason to go through with the lynch.

Take a look at Justin's posts. Submarining can be the sign of noobiness sure, but skimming and bandwagon voting as well? Three strikes to me means we should at least pressure him to contribute/explain his reasoning.

That really isn't true though. It's not uncommon for bigger/more advanced games to have fluff vendettas/feuds that aren't lyncher/lynchee roles.

edocsil wrote:With the whole lyncher bit, I personally believe Fuzzy is a lyncher, that kind of flavor isn't put into a role randomly.

I'm not yet convinced he is a lyncher. As Squirrel said, that kind of fluff can have several reasons other than being a lyncher and fuzzy's play so far doesn't look the part much tbh.

edocsil wrote:I assume his win condition is mutually exclusive to jeraado's. Also, pairs like this are not often on the same side. Take this advice as you will.

This part seems likely though. Not that useful right now but needs to be noted for future reference.

I found his ramblings about who was likely/unlikely to be a Cop or have a night 0 action to be anything but useful townie behaviour tbh.
Also I find it interesting that you try to build him up as a scum catcher when the only real case safari has pushed is calling fuzzy out as a lyncher. ;)

theherkman wrote:Now I have a question. Is the person to be lynched usually scum or town?

Usually the Lynchee is a townie and the Lyncher is 3rd party (and he usually turns into a survivor if his Lynchee is killed by way other than a lynch).

At the risk of supporting someone who may be out to get me, I don't think fuzzylogic should be lynched. I think the most likely explanation is the hating me is flavour, which doesn't really tell us anything about whether he is scum or not (although it may give some character clues i.e. a mafia godfather seems unlikely to deign to hate a lowly town peasant). PS that was NOT a claim :D

If he is a lyncher - surely no-one would ask a question like that if their win objective related to killing someone? - then I'd struggle to see that being given to mafia. It seems more likely to be third party, although I suppose it could be used to unlock some kind of ability, kind of like a reverse cupid. I don't know whether that ever happens in mafia though.

Either way, I wouldn't be surprised if I wind up targetted for a night kill tonight.

Focussing on the other players, last night I was thinking that there was something odd about safari, but reading through his posts today actually they were pretty helpful. I can't really see the case against him, or what was causing me to be suspicious. The person who does seem a bit odd at the moment is justinassss, for such brief posts, no reason for a vote, and going inactive for long periods.

The other thing I noticed is how inactive or semi-active some players are. Reading down the list there are some people who you wouldnt even think were playing:

Commander9 wrote:People who have signed up (bold means confirmed and alive):

 16. Haggis
 17. MeDeFe
 18. jeraado

But for now I'm going to vote justinasss, hopefully as a prod to get some more productive responses

Now safari added a case against Justin too. I can agree with that one as Justin have been acting pretty strange. Noobishly strange perhaps but quite possibly not in a noobishly townie way.

No one has been inactive for long periods, the game is less that a RL week old ffs. ;)

The randomness of day 1 accusations and BW's do tend to make people a little bit less active than they are on later days.

The issue I have with him, and apparently thez agrees, is that he seems to be fishing for roles rather than catching scum. He points out any hints toward a player's role. Honestly, it seems like he wants them to either confirm or deny his accusations. Such discussion only benefits scum in the early parts of the game. Later on it could be useful, but right now he should be keeping such speculation private.

I swear I am only posting this for educational purposes... And so I don't go ape-shit on the next person who does this...
Post #1 wrote:Haggis is deff mafia. Look at the way she just posted!
Post #2 wrote:
Post #1 wrote:Vio is deff mafia.
EBWOP, whoops, wrong name.

You only use EBWOP in place of the edit button for minor typos/changes. It is usually better in a long post to highlight or otherwise make your correction stand out.

Example #1 wrote:
Post #1 wrote:Haggis is deff mafia. Look at the way he just posted!
THM is also looking pretty scummy IMO.

This is not correct usage of EBWOP. The reason why is because you are not correcting a minor typo/change. The second post should be an entirely separate post which does not use EBWOP in any way.
Example #2 wrote:
Post #1 wrote:THM looks pretty scummy so far in this game...
Post #2 wrote:This is someone else responding to post #1.
Post #2 wrote:
Post #1 wrote:THM looks pretty scummy so far in this game...
This is someone else responding to post #1.
I suppose you are correct. THM doesn't look that scummy after all.
You are not editing by way of post. Someone has just posted a counter-argument that has swayed you. You should make post #3 into a separate post which doesn't mention EBWOP.
And that, ladies and gentlemen of Quahog, is what really grinds my gears.

The lyncher thing seems the obvious choice from fuzzys post. Hated townie is kind of a stretch and if it was hated townie, you'd think that more than one other person would hate said townie otherwise its more of a 1v1 rivalry than a massV1 hated townie situation.

unvote for now.
