now back to the subject...

It was part of the agreement that there would be random games...all fine and dandy. No spoils is another issue...when you are playing random maps with no spoils and your team goes second 3 out of 4 games, it tends to get a little lopsided.

We will give you everything we have...and it seems unlikely we will win this war. Perhaps we will a little respect, some experience, and we will continue to haunt you like MNDukes frig magnets.

going first is overrated. most of the time it does not even translate into an advantage at the end of the round.
Here is where going first matters the most
- 1v1 and some dubs games (small # players+ large number terts magnifies this effect)
-quads on small maps (increased chance of rnd 1 elimination)
-manual games (not a factor in this war)
-unlimited forts (not really a factor)
-some say foggy games but i find that argument specious


Really a bunch of extreme examples, and many stay away from these settings in a clan war on purpose to minimize the going first effect. In most of the other games possible (trips and quads on reasonable sized maps for instance) , going first really isnt that much of a factor in the outcome as any single 0-2 roll suffered by either team. It is just a matter of perspective.

in any of those 4 losses you mentioned, it could have been an 0-4 turn in round 4 that really sunk you guys, not who went first. it could be 2pr in round 11 that cost you the game. by that point, which team went first is merely insignificant.

The 'they got to go first' argument is getting old, it is tired, and not really supported by any evidence saying that it plays a defining role in the outcome of games lasting longer than say, 10 rounds.

In our war, in those games, these are the luck factors that played a much greater role: map size chosen by random, strategically advantageous drop for one team, and dice. To me, these play a much much greater role that simply 'who went first'

To save you some pain. Maybe next time when you are down to 1 region each and we all have 30 regions you could deploy and just end as opposed to attacking. we're pretty drunk most of the time but I don't think we can blow leads like that!!!

How bout this. If you win the hive game, we'll give you 20 wins for that game alone!

The fact Fen has been signing in for all of us and taking every single turn in this entire challenge so far is the only reason we are really winning!

Let me preface this by saying that you guys are playing great and it seems that you have really gelled as a unit...but I have never in my time here on CC seen things go this sideways in a clan war. It seems like every time I need some even 'okay' dice they fail me. Celtic Nations...small map, had a bonus, lost 3 straight double rolls on a pivotal turn...game over. Not all the dices fault. I will admit that since we fell so far behind after the Random section every turn seems like a panic and I think we are trying to make up for that with prayers to the CC gods that are going largely unanswered! Oh well, at least margin of victory does not influence the ladder
