BOB Attack!!!

Post by tec805 »

Map Name: BOB Attack!
Mapmaker(s): tec805 & He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named
Number of Territories: whatever fits the magic number
Special Features: must be played using BOB (well, if you want any chance of winning I mean)
What Makes This Map Worthy of Being Made: Bright and shiny? Huge farming potential against anyone who doesn't use BOB (including all those CC lifers that frown on new-fangled things like BOB and Clickable Maps). Basically impossible, headache inducing, be the last player to give up in disgust and take all the points! This exercise of frustration would be so crazy people would rather play Hive foggy with nukes!

Map Image:

So waiting for Death Race: Mojave to be stamped and moved I had a fun little idea for an impossible map, "BOB Attack!".

Region names would be things like "banana", "X31", "Aaron's Sister" and other non-related names/terms/whatever.

Attack paths would be totally incoherent, having nothing to do with being next to each other. Continents would be the same, nothing but BOB to help you figure it out. +2 for taking more than a single turn.

Regions would be located on the colored balls/text/eyeball-hiding-in-the-corner, but with no other markings, so if the yellow player has a region on a yellow ball he would be unable to visually find it (at least not very easily). If he happened to have a blue or red ball region he would see it, but since the attack paths aren't marked in any fashion to the regions that aren't marked in any fashion he would have no idea where he was attacking without BOB.

Victory condition: Taking 10 turns without deadbeating due to brain aneurysms.

Are we ready for XML yet? O:)

would it be possible for the xml attack routes to change every time you played the map?

you should create huge negative bonuses for combos that look like real bonuses (like having 3 of a same colour linked). also you should make 2 identical maps with almost the same name, but one would be called BOB attack and the other one B0B attack, each with a completely different logic. you will get 2 medals and it would make up for the one you got taken away! :-)

As long as crack is being smoked, yes the XML will be randomly generated for each play on the map, including between turns!

[Moved]

This map has been moved into the Ideas subforum, as it does not meet the criteria for a Working Draft:

Drafting Room Guidelines

To be considered a Working Draft a project must be more than just an idea; a Draft should have a clear thematic focus, a plan for how the gameplay will work, and a basic image which should include:
    1. Territory Labels - temporary names or numbers will suffice, and are always open to change.
    2. Borders/Paths/Impassables - it should be made clear where territories do/do not connect.
    3. Bonus Areas - where combinations/groups of territories will award a bonus, this should be indicated on the map.
    4. Legend - speculative bonus values and explanations of any attack rules or gameplay features.
Draft images should generally not be larger than 630x600px (small image) or 840x800px (large image).

I'm glad this is the case, I was reviewing this wondering wtf people without bob or color blind would ever be able to play the map without guessing.
