How should scoring for Grids 3 & 4 be in Round 2? Less games here means elimination is affected.

1. Give each of these players a 2-1 victory against the deadbeat opponent no longer playing.

44%
2. Give each of these players a 3-0 victory against the deadbeat opponent no longer playing.
3
12%
3. Randomly "roll the dice", using random.org or some other random way for a win/loss ratio against deadbeat opponent no longer playing.
1
4%
4. Do nothing.
2
8%
5. Compare deadbeat's scores in tournament to any games already played against an opponent in tourney and score similarly.

6. Randomly pick a player from another Grid to play 3 games against. These games will only count towards Grids 3 & 4 kill counts, and do not affect Grids 1 or 2.

7. Pick a 7th opponent from Grids 3 & 4 to play a 7th set of games in the other Grid (similar to option 6, but specifically only from grids 3 & 4)

8. Hold a special set of multi-player games similar to the tie-breaker games, and award kills/wins based off finish.

Yessir, each grid has their own bracket in the 2nd posting of the thread. This will be updated per round due to game play.

in addition, looks like another player is no longer going to be active. Rather than try to replace him, I am going to put him as last place, and drop him. As a result, for the second round one grid will have only 7 players. Working on scores to determine where exactly though. Will decide once all games are finished and before any necessary tie-breakers are needed. (If this allows grids to balance appropriately with only one having 7, and no tie-breakers needed as a result, all the better).

[player]bobislarge[/player]

Has gone MIA and is not responding to invites, or mails. He is the player being dropped. dumhic gets a forfeit victory of 2-1 ( i gave it that score due to bob having won several other games, and skunked one player)

Round one is over, we have 2 tiebreaker games to determine 3 grids. grid 4 will have 7 players in it. These 7 players may or may not receive extra "wins" to cover the player no longer in the tourney. Since the total wins are tallied, they would have another 3 chances for wins. I am debating this since it may affect the outcome. I am thinking perhaps having some kind of challenge question or something to have them earn them. Here are the grid tiebreakers for round 1.

(11 wins) to determine the lower section of Grid 2 and upper section of Grid 3
dumhic
leverpuller
farinelli
Tirbid
chapcrap

(13 wins) to determine upper section of Grid 2, and lower section of Grid 1
reahma
harvmax
traffic133
Crarg
subprime

as a result of hving 2 grids with only 7 players.. there will be a minor handicap for those grids, allowing for "wins" to be tracked... I was thinking of providing a some wins and losses against the now nonexistent players...based off the eliminated players round 1 performance, as well as the individual they would be playing in rd 2.... bouncing it around.. will send this information to all players still active.

Just go off of W/L percentage instead of the actual W/L. I think that's the most fair.

I don't quite understand the format of the games and I'm to lazy to try reading the first post to understand. Does chaps suggestion work? or can you just dump us all into one big round robin?

Whatever you do I trust your judgement

basically, i wanted an idea to allow for elimination in a round robin tourney, but using grids that people move up and down... the way that this is going though.. I may just switch it where the bottom xx people end up getting eliminated... dunno yet though. plus i have the poll on the first thread now, and so far 35% of voters want a 2-1 victory for deadbeats opponents.

Re: Grid Wars FULL

ok.. so it looks like for round 2 deadbeat players will forfeit and give their opponents a 2-1 victory. This will mean several players get extra points, in order to determine the Grids for the next round. I will post those points here at the end of the round with total scores.

Players who have deadbeated at this point:
bobislarge (Grid 4)
vegnagun (Grid 3)
efreddy (Grid 4)
