London and Far East sent. That's now 200 games, or 20 per player. Will try to get 4 more out by Friday so that we are at 24 per player. Next maps are Germany and Japan.
Will likely hold off on invites at 24 per player until we have 18-20 maps totally complete. Will give everyone a sense of the true standings at that point.

Two more invites out the door. Will get Italy and Golfe du St. Laurent out by the end of the week. That will be 24 games and we'll take a pause then to try to get everyone caught up before the final 6.
Re: Initech XXXVI: World Assassin League [FULL]
these continued missed turns by p.perkins in all the games are really starting to get annoying

205 games out of 240 active are complete... going to wait a few more days to get a better balance of completed games on the scoreboard, then press forth with the final 6 games.

Re: Initech XXXVI: World Assassin League [FULL]
Three things...
A) 220 games complete out of 240 sent.
B) I know I'm off 1 game in the loss column on a couple people. Will do a full audit when we're through 24 games each to make sure it's accurate.
C) Got to figure out what to do with p.perkins if he's fully deadbeated now. Might need a stand-in for the final 6 games, so that could delay things.

Yeah, game #10766377 was a real good back and forth match until he disappeared, how is this effecting outcomes?

Hard to say... he was quite clearly deliberately missing turns in some games to begin with and hasn't responded to my inquiries.thekidstrumpet wrote:Yeah, game #10766377 was a real good back and forth match until he disappeared, how is this effecting outcomes?
With 24 games (and a random nature of assigning opponents), I'd like to think it evens out.

Re: Initech XXXVI: World Assassin League [FULL]
Three games to finish and then all 240 games will be complete.
Greater China, Greenland and Ireland will all come in one batch, to get us to 270 games out and everyone still even.
I will draw the games with all 30 players and then figure out what to do about p.perkins--might just get someone from outside the tournament to fill-in as a "dummy."
If you are in red on the scoreboard, which is updated, you are mathematically eliminated.

Ok, I've got a replacement. But a couple of you have rejected invites for some reason. Going to let the 24 hour window play out to see what the status of all games is. If people are dropping from the tournament because they are eliminated, we could go with 9 games per map if necessary and it really won't affect the balance of the tournament. So if you're in a game that is awaiting players, stand-by.

People dropping out the moment they feel they can't win (and sometimes, yes, when they can't) is the bane of all league-type tournaments.
When I sign up to play, I'm playing it out. Even when it's *ick* assassin.
With the usual stipulation that RL trumps CC, of course.

Yes, I just realized in all my other league-type tournament scenarios, I've never sent fewer than 1/6 of the games in the final batch and I've done so when the rest were active. Waiting to balance the scoreboard might have been a tactical mistake here, but it also seemed the fair route to the leaders.

Re: Initech XXXVI: World Assassin League [FULL]
Well, it looks like p.perkins is definitely gone. Mightor has declined invites and is not replying. So we're at 28 players.
Oddly, Tupence seems to be away from the site. If his second round of invites time out, I'm going to re-work the games and just go with 9 games per map.
If Tupence takes the invites, I have one replacement and then will need to find a second.

Okay, I've dropped p.perkins, Tupence and Mightor from the tournament. I'm going to freeze their names on the board and just end them with 24 games (if I give them 6 losses, it makes it more difficult to balance the scoreboard).
The 7 games which were waiting have now been combined into four.
For the final three maps, which I plan to send Monday, we will have 9 games each.
Hope that all makes sense.

To further the above point, the following games do NOT exist: Ireland #8, Greenland #4, Greater China #5.
For Haiti, Iceland and Indochina, there will be no #10 maps.

Indochina sent. Once all 9 matches are fully joined, Haiti will come next.

Re: Initech XXXVI: World Assassin League [FULL]
All Indochina invites were joined except Serreski, who is traveling and has noted there might be some delay. So I feel comfortable in the fact that we have all remaining 27 players for the final 3 maps.
Haiti invites just sent. Match #3 gave us an interesting draw, with the top two players facing off against each other. That might help avoid tiebreakers for the tournament championship, but it's potentially bad news for everyone else still in the running... unless thekidstrumpet can pull of a win there.
Final set of invites, for Iceland, should go out tomorrow.

Iceland invites are out. Other than following-up on any missed invites, that's it! Good luck to everyone still in the running... should be a tight race for the championship.

ZionT has tied it up. Two games left for each of the players in contention--one of them on a common map! Should be a good finish...

Re: Initech XXXVI: World Assassin League [FULL]
br4nd0n2002 takes a 1/2 game lead with his Iceland win, to go to 17-12. ZionT stands at 16-12.
It really all comes down to the Haiti match. br4nd0n2002 and ZionT are currently 1-1 against each other. A ZionT win on the Haiti map would tie him for the tournament lead at 17 wins. Even if he loses his Iceland game, he'd then win the tiebreaker 2-1.
If br4nd0n2002 wins Haiti, he wins outright. He also wins outright if ZionT loses both Haiti and Iceland.
Only scenario that results in co-champions now is if thekidstrumpet wins Haiti and ZionT wins his Iceland game.

Well that's that then... quite the finish. Congratulations to all partipants and thanks to everyone who stuck it through to the end. But most of all, congrats to br4nd0n2002, who is Champion of Initech XXXVI: World Assassin League!
