I'd have to admit I believe Canada to the better team, generally speaking. How much better they are, I would not like to try and attempt to put into words. It doesn't matter anyway, Sweden just needs to be the better team tomorrow, and of that we are capable.

The best of Scandinavia* vs the best of North America, game on.

*And yes, I will go that far. I'm sure there are a fair few Finns who would argue they are better. But looking at results over the years, it speaks for itself. The numbers support my argument.

1) That was a terribly officiated game. All penalties were weak calls, especially the call for slashing to Kunitz and the high stick to Getzlaf.

2) The Americans are going to hate playing the Fins. Just like everybody else.

3) How the f*ck are the Ducks not winning the Stanley Cup every year? All they need is a big body with Getzlaf and Perry to cycle with them and they're unstoppable.

4) Quick and McDonaugh are the only reason that wasn't a blowout. They should stop counting blocked shots for McDonaugh and start counting saves.

5) Doughty has gone beast mode in this tournament. I will be proudly wearing THIS on Sunday morning.

That was Canada's lone loss in a tournament they won, and Sweden went on to lose in the quarterfinals in an infamous game against Belarus. This loss is remembered in Sweden as the biggest disappointment in the history of swedish sport. Not just hockey, but any sport.

The last time Sweden and Canada met in a single game knockout match in the olympics was in 94, when Sweden won the gold medal game against Canada. Let's re-enact that game on Sunday .

Oh and I think the King will be in the arena on Sunday, no I'm not talking about Lundqvist, although he'll be there as well I sure hope. The King of Sweden has been following a lot of the sporting activities in Sochi personally and it would be very surprising if he didn't come to the biggest event of all. And to all you Canadians who don't know who the Swedish king is let me say that he's a huge sportfan and often very vocal during games. He'll probably be more vocal than all canadian fans put together in the arena. Don't believe me, photographical evidence! Look at the lady sitting on the row below him in the first pic. Okay so what are your predictions for the gold medal and bronze medal games?
I think the Bronze medal game is going to be between two noticably tired teams and therefore I don't see a low scoring affair. USA wins 4-3.
Gold medal game is going to feature two teams that have gotten more rest and also the two best defensive teams with hot goalies, I see a low scoring game with Sweden edging out a win late in the third period. 2-1. But of course it might be the other way around, and Canada wins with a small margin. What would really surprise me is if the game turns into goal feast or that one team clearly wins the game with several (none open netter's) goals.
