here is my reasons for it. :
bots always take their turns...
bots do not engage in Secret Diplomacy
bots do not attempt to manipulate anything in the gameplay like intentionally missing turns in order to gain extra deployments
when playing bots . you can actually set a decent strategy knowing they are going to take their turns..
Bots do not have previous grudges from losing to you , so they suicide themselves into you just to ensure you do not win
games will not take 2 months to play 30 rounds..

I play mostly bot games from around now until October or so because I can't pause games when we go away from Internet and I don't feel right about using sitters.

I find when people miss a turn there is typically not much advantage. They don't get extra armies. There is just a deferred deployment and they lose a card.

I figure people should play whatever they like here.

Surly you have not beat enough people for this to be a problem? I've had this happen maybe 1 or 2 times and i have played and won way way way more games then you. I suspect your issues revolved around your annoying personality more then your "stellar" game play.

I never said it happened to me regularly. You stated "I've had this happen maybe 1 or 2 times" which reads like you've had it happen in a game, not directly to you. I've only been suicided against a handful of times that I can remember, but I have witnessed it happen many times just like you.

Many people have their high scores either in the sigs or on their wall. You'd know this if you've been on the site longer then a few months. People do this for one of two reasons... to brag like you said or like i do to remember what their high score is. I want to know when i beat it and the only way i will remember is if i have it written down.

I call it old high score because it is exactly that, the high score i got during my previous time on the site. Believe it or not i didn't play 10 years straight. Most of my games happened between 2009 and 2013. I been back on the site a little over a year now and have about 1000 played. I currently run between 15 and 30 mostly team games. (team games are when you play nice with others and win or lose as a group)

Take off 3600 games worth of speed games (games with 1-5 minute turn timer, you got to pay from them though, maybe ask mommy or daddy to help you out with that) and it really is not that many.

Profiles have tracked high scores for ages now anyway but people still do it.

Ya and the moment i pass the "old high score" i will be removing it from my sig. The profiles only started tracking around the time i left the site so my high score(and low score) are not tracked like more recent players.
