 On fire - if you call 0 points in the series "on fire"! I for one hope he stays "red hot"! =D>
Datsyuk, meanwhile, is playing injured, and is still the best player on the ice.

Roenick ripped him a new one on VS the other night. Yikes...

I know. I'm confused how anyone watching the series would think that he's playing well at all!

I'm not really a fan of either team (ever since Heatley joined San Jose), and I've only watched one game, this series, but he was playing well. Goals aren't the only indicator of a great player... He's doing a spiffing job. Last series (which I watched most of), he was playing splendidly. Against the Kings, that may not have been a tremendous feat. Datsyuk certainly isn't the best player of the playoffs... I would venture a few other names. :P David Krejci, for example, has nine points, and who (other than Boston fans) had ever heard of him?

ha ha, Ovo, you got the score right... unfortunately, it was Destroit who pulled it away...

Marleau hasn't played well AT ALL in this series. He has a history of disappearing against Detroit (2 goals 2 assists in 17 playoff games against the Red Wings) Marleau is the one who coughed up the puck in Game 5 along the boards, when Datsyuk picked his pocket, rolled off Marleau's half-hearted attempt at hitting him, then dished the puck to Lidstrom for the winning shot (tipped by Holmstrom). Marleau had one shot in Game 6. That's not "spiffing", unless "spiffing" is meant in a derogatory manner.

I can give you other names as well. Ryan Kesler is leading Vancouver, not the Sedin twins. Tim Thomas is leading Boston. (oh and I've heard of Krejci, but I'm hardly a Bruins fan; I'm a fan of the NHL). Once Steve Stamkos figured out playoff hockey in the 1st round, he's been good, but he's being out-shined on his own team by Martin St. Louis. Ryan Clowe has been leading the Sharks, not Thornton or Marleau. And anyone who's watched more than just one of the Wings' 10 playoff games this year would be able to tell you - Pavel Datsyuk has been a dominating force. You want to talk to me about "doing the little things"? Go watch Pavel Datsyuk play.

I'd like to agree with you xeno, but then we'd both be wrong.

Zetterberg's giveaway in the final minute of the 1st Period for a 2-0 Sharks' lead was too much. Now the top seeds in the West can get after it.

Rooting for the Lightning from here on out. Beat my Pens in a tough 7 game series and swept the bitches...er, I mean Caps.

I'm quite glad that Marleau pulled off the last goal in the series for San Jose. I rest my case, gentlemen. :P At any rate, I hope he doesn't perform very well in Vancouver.

Kesler and Burrows are definitely doing the job in scoring for Vancouver... Low scoring games and the Sedins aren't doing very well, at all. The defense and goaltending tends to be pretty solid... Only on a couple of games have the Canucks scored more than two goals.

I concur - Martin St. Louis is performing marvelously.

I'm cheering for Vancouver, ultimately, but I hope Tampa Bay has the power to defeat Boston. They totalled Washington, so I don't see why they can't perform in a similar manner v. Boston... Boston's got some large players, though, which got them through against Philadelphia.

The Canucks handled the Sharks over the course of the season,
now we'll see if the West Finals changes that.

Lightning are having a great playoff run, but so are the Bruins,
so this should be great and I'm looking forward to both of these
series.

I knew when Marleau scored in Game 7 that GB2 would come on and crow about how well Patty played. That was his best of game of the series for sure. But one goal does NOT make for a good series. I give him his due in Game 7, definitely, but the rest of the series he was an embarrassment.
