Oh and I think the King will be in the arena on Sunday, no I'm not talking about Lundqvist, although he'll be there as well I sure hope. The King of Sweden has been following a lot of the sporting activities in Sochi personally and it would be very surprising if he didn't come to the biggest event of all. And to all you Canadians who don't know who the Swedish king is let me say that he's a huge sportfan and often very vocal during games. He'll probably be more vocal than all canadian fans put together in the arena. Don't believe me, photographical evidence! Look at the lady sitting on the row below him in the first pic. It's pretty obvious this wasn't the first time he yelled during the game, hehe.

You're staring yourself blind at the Olypmics though. Sweden beat Canada in the world championships Quarter-Final last year, as I'm sure you will remember if you put your mind to it, as we won the whole thing

Sweden won't be an easy game as the states weren't, but I believe we can do it! Good luck to Sweden but more luck to Canada

I picked Finland and USA in the right place. There is still a chance for my Canada and Russia placements to just be transposed and I will get 3 of the top 5 right.
Serbia could get one right. AoG could get one right. notyou2 could get one right. Duke, denominator and nietzche and BBS have 1, could get a second right.

It's hard to forget such a recent fond memory, winning on home ice to boot as well. But it was in the WC, not in the olympics. And we had home ice advantage. I'm not sure who the russians will be cheering for in Sochi but it won't be like in Globen, even if our king is present

Congrats to Finland. Every year they're underrated, and just about every year they medal.
The United States totally collapsed. Shut out in the medal round. Amazing.
Bollocks.

Gillipig wrote:Okay so what are your predictions for the gold medal and bronze medal games?
I think the Bronze medal game is going to be between two noticably tired teams and therefore I don't see a low scoring affair. USA wins 4-3.
Gold medal game is going to feature two teams that have gotten more rest and also the two best defensive teams with hot goalies, I see a low scoring game with Sweden edging out a win late in the third period. 2-1. But of course it might be the other way around, and Canada wins with a small margin. What would really surprise me is if the game turns into goal feast or that one team clearly wins the game with several (none open netter's) goals.
Looks like you're way off with both predictions, man. However I can't criticize too much since I never made an official prediction myself...

the US would rather not sit through the medal ceremony if they get bronze, no wonder Finland breezed through.

The best team won, the only close period was the first period, after that it was Canada all the way. One team was just clearly better. I guess that means canadians have bragging rights for another four years, sigh. Well earned though so I can't complain.
Guess the next thing to look forward to is the world championships in spring. Let's try to defend that title and prevent Canada from pulling a double this year

!

It's a good thing. After we lost in the World Juniors, there were calls for an Official Inquiry into the state of Hockey Canada.

Back to back shutouts... and back to back Gold Medals.
Last team to do that was Russia who went 3x.
It's a shame Sweden's roster was lacking centers,
but Team Canada's defense was awesome with
few pucks finding the back of their net.
Just 3 in 6 games???

I win gold. Correction: Your Team & Country win Gold.
No surprise anyone in the Great White North
would pick CANADA all the way.
OR was this actually an educated guess?
Now I'm wondering who had the stones
to win Curling?
