After getting to the end of this thread I realize it has to be a joke.

1) The order is completely random so as to maximize fairness.

2) To promote maximum inclusiveness and democracy-in-action, auto-nominations are permitted.

What the F do you think?

No, obviously it's not. I've been repeatedly targeted for harassment by the Gang of 5 both on and off site. They're even forming a usergroup right now to better organize their harassment - in other words will be using CC resources to organize attacks and hate both here and elsewhere. This will be one issue an Ombudsman could address.

saxitoxin wrote:ACHTUNG CC users. In order to engender a greater sense of community and democratic action, I have been asked by many CC players to manage the election of a player ombudsman to represent the desires of the player community to the mods. The player ombudsman will have the mandate of the player community and the sanction of democratic legitimacy to speak on behalf of all CC players to management.

If you would like to run, or would like to nominate someone, please post names in this thread. Once all nominations have been received an election will be held and a winner selected via a modified Schulze-STV tabulation method.*

*In this method, ballots will be assigned to one of the candidates in (A1,A2,...,AS). However, a ballot may only be assigned to An, if the voter prefers An to B. This means that ballots which prefer B to all the candidates in (A1,A2,...,AS) will remain unassigned. The ballots are assigned such the ballots held by the candidate with the smallest number of ballots is maximised.

The number of votes in favour of the candidate that (A1,A2,...,AS) beats (A2,...,AS,B) is equal to the number of ballots held by the candidate with the fewest number of ballots.

To determine the result of the comparison, the reverse comparison will also be performed. This will give the number of votes against the candidate that (A1,A2,...,AS) beats (A2,...,AS,B), i.e. the number of votes in favour of the proposal that (A2,...,AS,B) beats (A1,A2,...,AS). A new ombudsman will then be declared elected. All necessary calculations will be performed by me, as elections manager. I will also certify the results. Nominations will close at such time as the elections manager determines a sufficient quantity of candidates have been nominated.

note - historically problematic players (HPP) will not be eligible to stand for election

I nominate myself, Saxitoxin.

Did you work for Bush 2000? Are you trying to disenfranchise me with com-plex-i-ty...?

I nominate myself to have a bigger, bolder font than saxitoxin; also I demand the expulsion of young colton because he is 11 and his sig. knows where I live. That's just fucking scary.

Ah, but there is something very amusing about mods supporting saxitoxin's blatant trolling because he is 'pro-mod', apparently without seeing the obvious irony he is trying to convey.

(let me just spell it out)

Saxitoxin is actually highlighting mod-bias by making blatant trolling threads that support mods to see if they ever get locked. That they never do (in fact they have mods taking part in them) proves the - quite clever - point he is trying to make: that mods lock threads that annoy mods, rather than threads that break the guidelines.

Spot on Changsha. Once again the Mods (and to a lesser extent their Masters the Admin) show their complete naivety and wonder why so many view them as being shallow, two faced, mediocre of talent and not to be trusted. Meanwhile the likes of Optimus Prime wander around arrogantly telling the community that if they cannot follow his particular way then he will not bother with listening to anyone or, in fact, discussing any further with anyone.

I say well done to Saxitoxin, long may you continue to show those who deserve it in their true colours.

we have been unequivocal in our support of the mods and will not entertain the hijacking of this democratic election by anti-mod bad seeds; it is the expectation of the community that the ombudsman will support and provide democratic legitimacy to the mods in their decisions to surgically remove problem users.............................by saxitoxin............................................ EXACTLY. YOU want to be able to remove those YOU do not like and dictate to the owners of this site whom they may have as a customer. And how will that go over with the owners once C C is down to only those that have sworn allegiance to YOU?. If ya want to own this site perhaps you should purchase it instead of hijacking it. One more point/question. You are a multi. Which MOD do you belong too?

Well seeing as how you have no authority whatsoever to do anything at all or make up any rules for this voting process, I am going to go ahead and revoke your statement that players with a history of problems are not eligible.

As well I am going to go ahead and nominate Dancing Mustard as this voice thing and I request we take this to a vote immediately.

If Dancing Mustard doesn't get voted in I will continue representing myself on the forums.

You guys obviously didn't read my posts, yet you complain about them anyway. I was clearly challenging the original poster in the legitimacy of his thread, and if you had read the posts, you would know that. Besides, I'm not a global mod, so I can't do anything about this thread even if I thought it was breaking the rules. (By the way, I didn't think it was breaking the rules until maybe when the names started being listed in different sizes.)

I was thinking that maybe GD's left it open so we can, uh, do something about it. Otherwise this voting system is far too bias and wouldn't be a fair system at all. Also, I believe he would have to get lack's permission to do something like this. :?

No, you weren't. You simply critiqued the idea (three times) as if it were a serious proposal.

And you have no idea how to contact a mod or admin who could do something about this thread?
