Yes, I did it! [Current #1: waauw]

Post by JBlombier »

In this game, every post you write has to follow an easy pattern. Every vowel must be followed by a consonant and the other way around. The person to write the longest comprehensive post with acceptable English spelling and grammar, will be the number one. Good luck!

Example:
Yes, I did it!

Scoreboard
He had it as diner; a nice sugary mini-cake made for a ceremony, not a bone, nor a rib-eye, nor a banana cake, nor a banana, nor a rice cake, nor a rice-cube, nor any rice, nor a potato, nor any tofu, nor any suya, nor any yakitori, nor any bife a cavalo, nor any bulalô, nor any menudo, nor any panada, nor any bacon. (waauw)
Alas, a taramasalata lover, as a taramasalata lover, is an Avalon exile taramasalta lover- alas, a taramasalata lover as a lover, is a parasitic exile to be removed at an exegetical, or useful, emetic, exiled as of an enema. (Symmetry)
i do not use Y as a vowel, ever, or in a superexile parasitic episode case sometimes I do. (betiko)
I'm in a super exile parasitic episode (WingCmdr Ginkapo)
Go now unite my city, Tacocat. (Quirk)
Yes, I did it! (JBlombier)

For the purposes of this game, (and the Queens english) "y" is not a vowel. Check out JBlonbiers use of "yes".

I'm in a super exile parasitic episode

I did a search, as I wasn't aware this was something we could argue about. On Oxford Dictionaries it says that
Whether the letter Y is a vowel or a consonant is therefore rather an arbitrary decision.

For the sake of this game, I declare the Y to be valid when used it in its proper place.
So city is valid, because the Y is clearly a vowel in this case. I think that's reasonable.

WingCmdr Ginkapo leads with the longest sentence!

Taramasalata is a really useful word In this game.

"Sugary mini cake" treats "y" as a vowel.

"Sugary mini cake" treats "y" as a vowel.

And? The next letter is "m", a consonant.

Exactly, three consonants in a row.

But you just said the y was a vowel.

I said it treated it as one. It is not. It's a consonant.
