Risk Video!
the old link has expired, here's a fresh one as of 5/17/2014!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VigrrTVw5jg
it's -still- a great layered metaphor/analogy/simile for a risk escalating game.
follow the link to view a super visual analogy of a risk game in progress. It's titled "Balance-Lauenstein"
Enjoy!
(the "eliminations" are the best part!)
If you think it worth while for others, give the thread a bump.

on the contrary i think it was escalating. notice how the guy that sat on the box started eliminating the others one by one using the movement momentum?
i think it was a clear case of cash-in eliminate cash-in eliminate.

It's definitely escalating. The box is the next cash.
The link again:"Balance-Lauenstein"
I'm starting to think this video may actually have Risk as part of its inspiration. Notice the case is shaped like one of the original wooden Risk armies. Painted red even.
Each player is even tagged with his board strength on the back of his coat.
Too many damn parallels to be coincidence.

you don;t get sinister ? .. for me it was a metaphor for the perpetual motion required for the fine balancing of society; with it's group of selfish individuals working cohesively for the whole, as ultimately it is in the interest of the individual... the film alluded to the ease with which it can all go tits-up.
more literally; the platform is in fact the representation of a kebab shop full of drunk blokes after closing time and the box is the arrival of an attractive, semi-clad lady fresh and sweaty from a nightclub.
