Society of the Cooks opens its doors.
"Train a cook today battle an officer tomorrow ! Making good players great"
Today marks the launching of a more formalized Society of the Cooks lead by [player]wacicha[/player] and [player]gloryordeath[/player]. The Society has long been running training for low ranked players as a usergroup but today, they hit the mainstream. With the launch of the Training Grounds (which will also see Strategy and Q&A moved in), Conquer Club is looking to make an easier to use space for new and old players alike who are looking to improve their game (...and admins who need some serious training help).
As of later today, all new players who gain their first rank will get a PM from us inviting them to come for training. Soon, we hope to see enough teachers and mentors to extend this to the very first game of every new CC player.
If you would like to help as a Society Teacher contact [player]wacicha[/player] or [player]gloryordeath[/player].
Thanks to all the community members who have volunteered to make The Society come to be!

You guys should've come to us earlier, killing three field marshals would be a big pay day. Keep an eye on the strategy guides ad-hoc, pick up some tips.

Go Training Grounds
This is a great idea.
Should we have some "Golden Rules" that trainees should look to follow ??

Well...the Community Guidelines are a good start
I'm sure we'll be adding more stuff when Q&A and Strategies get moved on over here.

Can any player throw in their two cents if they feel like it?

Definitely! That's what the admins (and mods) are hoping for
Jump in and help where ever you'd like...it helps everybody get what they need more quickly.

We will be heavily moderating this forum though, to make sure everybody gets the help they need
I'm sure more details will be coming soon on what the classrooms are, but Wacicha or gloryordeath would be better suited to answer your questions related to the society.

Re: Yay !
I don't know...I would ask Wacicha or gloryordeath...that's their area of expertise...not mine
And let's not spam up the thread...I wouldn't want to have to lock a thread or send a PM on the first day the forum is public

Re: Society of the Cooks opens its doors.
Just a random guess, but the admins play a net total of 10 games a month, if that
Probably be the reason

no...twills pretty good.... lack...eh...and andy has promise, but he picks impossible games to win, so he will never get a high score...
but im very happy to have them making the game fun for me to play, instead of playing it themselves.

Re: Society of the Cooks opens its doors.
lol what?
Why does this have to be at the top of the forum list taking up space?
I'd prefer to not be able to see that forum. Could it at least be placed at the bottom, under flame wars?

Because training up new members is much more important than flaming each other.

That's a matter of opinion.
People should have the option of asking to be removed from seeing this, as nothing in it applies to them.

It's a part of the standard forum list, and will most likely remain. The Flame Wars, Off Topics Forum, Map Foundry, etc, don't appeal or apply to everyone---but they, like this forum, will most likely not have an "opt out of viewing" feature.

Could a script be made that would hide the parts of the forums we don't want to see?

In regards to a user-created and user-installed script for the forum, you'd have to go see the folks at the Plugin's forum.
In regards to any forum-wide modification, there is some discussion going on in the Suggestions forum.
